Rock solid reception everywhere I go. But I've only used Nokia since 1995. Never bothered with the other companies.

I see a lot of bad reception comments. I had no reception with Metro PCS but my T-Mobile is fine. ONE TRICK is to go in your settings and change the SYSTEM selection method from AUTOMATIC to MANUAL. Then pick t-mobile. It does help with reception. It just might beep if it completely loses signal for awhile and ask u to choose a system. But I have 4 out of 5 bars inside my house. Then again I actually shopped to get a phone with good reception ratings.

The T-Mobile service is pathetic. The worse I have seen. I had Nextel and it worked fine. The family joke is how bad my T-Mobile service is. I get 0 bars inside and outside if I am lucky 1 bar. I can barely hear the calls. If I had not been given the phone because of my job, I certainly would have never paid for it. When I ask T-Mobile reps when is their service going to improve, they say that there is no plan for putting up towers in the area for now.

I am suprised to see how badly ppl rated Sprint. I live in Country Walk and have used friends' Cingular phones (Moto v600 and others) and had dropped calls. I have yet to lose a call with Sprint. I work less than 3 miles down 137 ave and even in the elevator, do not lose signal strength. I do not like the features that Sprint phones offer, but the service is great. Have not had to deal with customer service yet, but I heard they are a real pain. Overall, no complaints.

Good Reception here at FIU. Somtetimes inside the buildings you might not get anything at all. I had ATT before and it was bad here at FIU. Overall T-Mobile around here is good.

I've lived in this apartment for 2 years. No one who lives here can get any sort of regular reception. My roomate has tried three Sprint models too and regularly loses calls. I have tries two Nextel models and cannot recieve calls in my own home. We have also tried Cingular and Altell with various friends. All have very poor reception. What's up with having such a major dead zone in a large city?

Was happy with AT&T TDMA, but needed new phone. Bought Motorola V180 with Cingular (post merger) and reception all over Dade county has been spotty to see the least. Have called Cingular customer service (which is aweful) and they explained that there are 2 towers within 3 miles of my place... frustrating because TDMA was great everywhere.

The residential area south of US 1 contains very dense foliage, origionally a Live Oak Hammock which results in heavy absorption of radio signals. After trying all networks, bands, and svc providers I have found only two solutions for obtaining consistant, clear, and reliable level of service: 1. AMPS (Analog only) Portables which along with their higher output power can penitrate the foliage etc. 2. GSM phones with external mounted Patch Antenna and / or a signal booster (amp).

I have been with AT&T for many years and have been happy with customer service. I switched to GSM when they had their original promo to convert. I noticed immediately that the quality on GSM was lower, but my rate plan could not be beat. They have kept me on the same low rate for unlimited calling, so I won't leave AT&T. Then I got my MPx200 and have had issues with dropped calls, especially when jumping from cell tower to cell tower. Also, reception indoors is terrible. I am trying to figure out if the problem is my phone or my service.

This has to be the worst service. When Im on Biscayne, signal comes and goes. Then, when I go east on 105th Street, forget it.

Reception using Sprint PCS is pathetic. I have to go outside my house to get a signal, and that's if I go to the lake in my backyard. I get no signal inside my house. A few years ago, Sprint PCS was in negotiations to erect an antenna above Publix at the Meadows (SW 152nd Ave. and Bird Rd.), but never materialized. Even though I have Sprint PCS, visitors to my house subscribed to T-Mobile and Nextel can make and receive calls without any problems.
