Had ATT which was the worst, dropped calls and could not talk inside some building including my house! Switched to Cingular, was great until about 1 month ago - Constantly getting NETWORK BUSY or Steady busy tone when calling others? Cingular advised that Miami is Too Congested and not sure if it will improve? Offered to waive my early cancellation fee if I needed to switch. Customer Service very nice believe it or not. Seems to me that all carrier services have problems in one way or another.
i have had Cingular for almost a year and have never, never not had service, I used to have AT&T (gsm) and when they merged the service was horrible so I went to cingualr and ever since it has been perfect normaly have between 3-5 bars. works where my old, old Virgin Mobile and Sprint phones didnt.. over all this has been great I recomend Cingular 100%
The only place in my home where I get consistent reception is my upstairs balcony. Elsewhere in or out of my house the signal is poor at best and fades in and out apparently at random to no bars. It drives me nuts. I like GSM for travel and only Cingular and T-Mobile have it. T-M's problems appear just as bad so I guess I'm stuck. Maybe I'll camp out on my upstairs balcony.
4 inside my building. 5 outside, always 5 in 99% of coral gables. Still problems in some elevators but this is due to frequency band and common with all phones and carriers. Overall, excellent service in most of Miami.
I compared Nextel with old Sprint, AT&T and Verizon for reception. Nextel was the best. But as they have merged with Sprint, the reception is not as good as it used to be. My friend in Orlando has Verizon, and I can not talk to him clearly. My conclusion, they all charge us too much and deliver very littel.
