Switched from Nextel to AT&T recently. Nextel would not work inside the house and often not outside. Have not had these problems with AT&T, who also happen to have the closest tower to where I live.
I switched from Nextel 880 to Cingular. They both have very poor service(or no service) in the surrounding areas of Monticello, Greenville and Lamont. When it does have signal, it has many dropped calls or static in the call. My friends have Alltel. Thinking about switching to them.
Alllel is the "best" carrier there is or ever was. Nextel is pretty good and the two are usually opposites (when one has signal the other doesn't or has a weak signal) with Nextel tending to be the one without a signal. There is only 2 or 3 places i have found that Alllel doesn't have a signal (and I have had Alllel for about 3 years.) Their LG LX5550 is silver and burgundy in color and works wonderfully! So if you live in the South or anywhere there is Alllel... check into it!
