Dropped calls. takes forever to dial out Got a micro cell. Now have 5 bars in house and still drop calls! They suck!

HORRIBLE

No reception, or if one bar, dropped calls. When calling, it takes up to 3 minutes to drop and prompt call cannot be completed. AT& has drastically reduced their tower leases and band-width in the Naples - Ft. Myers corridor... to save money. They use a series of much-cheaper repeaters, which don't work very well. They reasoned that the summer season has less people and needed less coverage.

Drops calls frequently. It can go from 5 bars to no service in seconds. Sometimes the phone didn't even ring but voice mail arrives later. Customer relationship very deceiving. My contract expired and I ask for a discount rate for bad service for me to stay with them. She gave me the $20 discount per month but switched my plan from 900 minute to 450 with unlimited text (which I told her I don't use text) and unlimited mobil to mobil (for 6 months) without telling me. Also, they dropped my A-list (unlimited frequent call list) without telling me.

I've had issues with ATT for 2 years now since all my calls started to drop suddenly. I kept the service only because I get a whopping 35% discount off my bill for having acquired their services trough my employer at the time years ago. However since I moved to 34116 about a year ago I can barely make phone calls from my own home and when I am able to the signal is horrible and the calls drop constantly. My recommendation would be pick Verizon or Sprint no matter what the cost, its worth it. Im glad I made the switch I have an Iphone 4S now with Verizon and I am as happy as a pickle.

Att has sold their towers out, no reception anywhere, can't call customers on my cell, call failed all day long. Coverage has ceased to exist after last year. Very bad.

sometimes 2 or 3 bars, but a lot of dropped calls, even with 2 or 3. Supposedly a new tower coming in 2012, but no help on providing a micro-tower. Some say it doesn't help anyway. Almost $200 a month and no help. We will probably switch carriers soon.

I have never had a problem with AT&T as far as reception goes. I have been all over the the north,south and some of the east coast states and reception was not a problem. Only one spot in upstate NY in the Mohawk Valley I found a dead spot. My wife just switched to Sprint and it is total garage. They had us to hook up a device to my broadband modem to try and get reception but it failed. We are going to try it again and if it fails this time the whole thing is going back to them. Sprint's local people are very rued and could care less about you after they get your money.

The last month my service has been terrible. Dropped calls all the time. Only get service bars now 1 / 2 the time. Asked for help 4 times with att, terrible lip service. Wanted to drop my two plans without a fee, forget it. No co-operation or consideration for their lack of coverage now. Dropped calls happen all the time with AT&T in Colorado, Maine and up and down east coast of us. Does this on all family cell phones from att. Had Verizon last contract, going back. No dropped calls cheaper plans and phones.

Constantly dropping calls with AT&T,had Verizon and never dropped a call while in South Florida. For some unknown reason we switched to A&T... first thing on the plate when we go back home BACK TO VERIZON.

this area a real problem with both my iphone and blackberry curve but have talked to many others working or living on property that have limited or no service with AT&T phones of all kinds

I feel the overall reception is average, but where I need it most, it is below average, at the above intersection. I'd like to blame it on the building, but reception is poor as well in the parking lot. After reading the reviews, I've got a feeling that its not much better by any carrier.

Extremely spotty reception. Goes from 3 bars to 1 bar to dropped calls all inside our condo. NO reception outside in the open parking area or on Gulf Shore Blvd. Extremely frustrated with AT&T. Love the iPhone and hate the AT&T coverage. Dropped calls very common. Same experience with my wife's 3GS iPhone.

Incoming reception is hit and miss; there are 1-2 bars. I have to walk to very specific spots, measured almost in inches, inside and outside the house so that the person on the other end of the line can hear me.

Lot of crackling noise. person at other end could not hear me.

never delt with a worse company. reception spotty just about everywhere. they took me roaming away after being a costomer for 10 yrs because I used too roaming time which were still in my account.

Outside is spotty, but you can have a conversation. The phone will ring inside regularly, but for get about dialing or talking. I had Nextel until 12 / 05 - it was dead inside and terrible outside.

I have continually called Cingular over the past 3 years and they keep telling me they are working on improving reception out in the Estates. I can sometimes get my cell to ring but am not able to have a conversation on the phone as I get little or no signal.

I live off Radio, just up from Santa Barbara. Cingular gies me 2 - 4 bars in my home, but the reception on the calls is not good in my home, it's a little better outside.

Service was excellent wtih AT&T but once Cingular took over Oct 04, reception and calls horrible. Things did get better but the last 6 months and especially last 2 months, constant dropped calls, no incoming calls i.e. goes direct to voice mail. Even mobile to mobile on same account get "call failed". Same as others i.e. no reception indoors and have to go outside... .not condusive to rainy Florida! Have 3 more months to go on a 2 year contract, from postings I've read her, I may try Verizon.

Reception in the house is very spotty if at all. Also very spotty outside. Dropped calls or guarbled voices on 41 north of Immokalee RD. Usually works OK in the Park Shore area.

Had Bellsouth before they became Cingular and service rocked. Now for 5 years the service has been horrible. And after years of promises that the service will be better and the horrendous customer service I'm leaving Cingular for someone who knows that cell phones are supposed to be able to actually allow for a conversation. I can sit next to someone with a AT&T phone (after Cingular bought them) and I get 0 bars while they get 5. Had Cingular change my phone 5 times.. changed SIMMS and took it to 4 different stores - still no reception. In 2 months I am out of my contract and I'll never look back after dropping Cingular.

Just bought this phone and expected to connect the web / email side of it to a super-fast EDGE connection. No luck yet only GPRS at 7k. Will keep trying. Cell reception on this phone is great! Tri-band phone.

Wow, can a cell phone be any more useless. To say the signal sucks would be an understatement. Also, I am convinced that chimpanzees could provide better customer service.

reception is hit and miss but inside my apartment it is poor. If I go out onto the lanai it is at least usable. I was wondering if it was the phone?

Indoors your lucky if you can get to talk at all or even recieve you calls signal bounces from 4 bars to none to total loss of signal and wait for search I haver tried two samsungs and a Motorola also and same problem it is real bad.. you go outside and the signal improves as a total open area but even open but within 30 feet of the the home and signal dies

Won't even attempt to have a long conversation indoors! Reception sucks! Hey, here's an idea... why don't all the old rich people in Naples speak up!

Reception good outside or outdoors but very poor in the house

Analog reception is good - even inside buildings - but seems to be affected by the weather. Low cloud cover reduces reception, and rain makes it sporadic. My wife's digital phone rarely gets reception anywhere (in any conditions) but Cingular waives the roaming charges for us because they have to borrow towers from AT&T here. Customer service is very inconvenient, though. Cingular says they can't change our plan over the phone or online, so I'll have to drive nearly 30 miles to Ft. Meyers to a Cingular full-service store to get that. Seems pretty ridiculous. They'll gladly take our money over the phone, but not help us with our rate plan.
