better then Sprint wirless and outstanding compair to Cingular T-Mobile stinks in this area

if you stand by a window or go outside you may be able to talk for a few minutes before your call drops. Overall the Nextel service has gotten worse over the last couple years.

Will not work in my house, while friends sit there and chat away with other carriers. Often times, my phone will just alert that there is voicemail without ever having rung. I'm here looking to change.

Service was excellent wtih AT&T but once Cingular took over Oct 04, reception and calls horrible. Things did get better but the last 6 months and especially last 2 months, constant dropped calls, no incoming calls i.e. goes direct to voice mail. Even mobile to mobile on same account get "call failed". Same as others i.e. no reception indoors and have to go outside... .not condusive to rainy Florida! Have 3 more months to go on a 2 year contract, from postings I've read her, I may try Verizon.

Always GREAT reception. It is the only service that even works 10 miles south of Everglades City in my boat! Wouldn't use anything else!

Reception in the house is very spotty if at all. Also very spotty outside. Dropped calls or guarbled voices on 41 north of Immokalee RD. Usually works OK in the Park Shore area.

Terrible! Ever since I recieved this phone in January. Numerous drop calls. Gargled voices with 1 to 2 bars. I dropped my land line, have to get it back because I cant rely on this phone. I think it is the phone because I had no problems before.

Verizon And Alltel both inside the house only have 2 bars and sometimes the phone will not ring. It just will go to voicemail

Had Bellsouth before they became Cingular and service rocked. Now for 5 years the service has been horrible. And after years of promises that the service will be better and the horrendous customer service I'm leaving Cingular for someone who knows that cell phones are supposed to be able to actually allow for a conversation. I can sit next to someone with a AT&T phone (after Cingular bought them) and I get 0 bars while they get 5. Had Cingular change my phone 5 times.. changed SIMMS and took it to 4 different stores - still no reception. In 2 months I am out of my contract and I'll never look back after dropping Cingular.

Just bought this phone and expected to connect the web / email side of it to a super-fast EDGE connection. No luck yet only GPRS at 7k. Will keep trying. Cell reception on this phone is great! Tri-band phone.

Reception is good enough to use as my only business phone. Only downside is Verizon's lack of selction in new phones but, I wouldn't think of swithching carriers because Verizon customer service is very good and the reports from Cingular and especially Sprint users are horrific.

Ever since Nextel merged with Sprint the service has been going downhill. It has definitely gotten worse this past year and the last couple of weeks it has become intolerable. I called to complain and they said they would send someone out to check the towers. I haven't heard back from them since. They told me that if they could verify that I dropped over 5% of my calls I would qualify for a refund. That's laughable as I probably drop 80% - 90% of my calls. MOST calls I have to call back, or get called back, an average of three times to complete a simple conversation. Everyone who knows me jokes (and sympathizes) with me over how poor my carrier is. We've begun referring to it as "NextHell." If you are looking for a new carrier in the Naples area (as I am now), do yourself a HUGE favor and stay completely away from Nextel.

Wow, can a cell phone be any more useless. To say the signal sucks would be an understatement. Also, I am convinced that chimpanzees could provide better customer service.

reception is hit and miss but inside my apartment it is poor. If I go out onto the lanai it is at least usable. I was wondering if it was the phone?

Indoors your lucky if you can get to talk at all or even recieve you calls signal bounces from 4 bars to none to total loss of signal and wait for search I haver tried two samsungs and a Motorola also and same problem it is real bad.. you go outside and the signal improves as a total open area but even open but within 30 feet of the the home and signal dies

Reception has always been an issue at our house. I was on AT&T / Cingular analog for years, but I hated their customer service. A month an a half ago I switched to Verizon when their sales rep at the mall assured me that there were 2 towers out in the Estates. I had so many dropped calls and long distance calls were out of the question. I even had problems getting calls off of 5th Ave. downtown. The tech support woman at Verizon was very nice and she did find that they can't meet my needs. They are letting me out of my 2 year contract with no hassle. Alltel assured me that they have great coverage out here, but after reading this web page I'm leary of that. Verizon says that they'll be making improvements in the Estates in 2006.

1 / 2 a bar if that... The absolute worst coverage I have ever experienced with any cellular phone company! I have lost / dropped at least 9 calls today from inside my home. I am on this site like everyone else more than likely, looking for the better phone and coverage.
