Nextel has great coverage in Orlando. A++++ for Nextel after being taken over by Sprint.

I need to go outside to make calls, Walkie Talkie, is worthless... .Will be swithing ASAP.

I just moved into this area and knowing the upper-end area this is I am quite disappointed to find out that Nextel service inside and around the Bay Hill area is poor to none. Having 6 Nextel phones in this house is now QUITE annoying! Guess this is what we get for moving next to a celebrity's house.

Nextel really sucks. Dropped call throughout all of central florida. Even when you have full bars, it will drop a call. ITs weird. In my house there are areas where it will drop a call. Its like an invisible ring. I came here to see other providers because as soon as I can I am leaving Nextel's crappy service. The funny thing is there is a sign on 528 which says "Cingular, fewest dropped call" right where there is a Nextel dead zone! *hint, hint

We have had Nextel since the radios were as big as Walkie Talkies. Radio was the number one reason we had the service. We put up with the poor phone coverage as interoffice communciation and communication with vendors and subcontractors were essential. It is sad that Nextel has allowed thier coverage and reliability to erode for thier corporate clients to an all time low. You know it is a problem when we switch the entire company from Nextel to... well, any other provider. 9 out of 10 dropped calls. Radios have become a source of constant irritation.

I've had Nextel since before moving to Orlando in 2000. Service has been very poor over the last two years. It's almost useless at home (Metrowest) works poorly at work (zip 32810, near Lee Road) and drops often on I-4 on theway to Tampa. I wish I could switch immediately to another carrier but my contract isn't up for another 6 months. I can only surmise that the Sprint takeover spoiled a formerly great service. It's a shame.

Nextel coverage is poor throughout the central Fl area. Im a truck driver, that experiences weak reception almost everywhere that I travel in the central Fl region. Dropped calls have become the norm. Customer service is a joke. My contract expires in Oct. hopefully my patience out lives my contract.

EVERY single call is dropped at least once. Callers are often told that Nextel needs to "locate" me when I am sitting right beside it. All too often, it indicates no service available. Nextel has checked the phone out and says it works just fine and that I must be in an area with low coverage. that must include all central Florida! The bad news is that I just signed a contract with Nextel and have this non-working piece of junk for two years.

Calls drop once you cross Sandlake Rd.heading N. on John Young Pkwy. the reception is awful.

In this area Nextel service has only gotten worse since the merger. any where in the conway area you can expect to drop calls and have on and off reception. would not recommend Nextel by any means

Sand Lake road and Sea World are fine. IT IS PERFECT FOR ME. I was just there the other day. FULL SERVICE

I don't know where you people are coming from when you say Nextel is bad. I just visited Orlando. Just got back today. My reception was fine. NO DROPPED CALLS. Didn't get full service inside the resort, but always got at least 2 - 3 bars. outside or out on the patio it is FULL. but even inside thats enough to make a call and be able to hear clearly and be heard.

Frequent dropped calls. Dropped calls seem to coincide with planes flying overhead (I live in the flight pat of OIA), which happens several times an hour. Many times, I am disconnected from a call so many times that the person on the other end gets frustrated and ends the call.

Direct connect and cell phone work just fine. Nextel had a series of problems with the i530 and 730 phones. My wife had 6 i530's before she got a good one. I think that they were all factory refubish models. T-Mobile just junk... ... ... ... . Dropped 8 out of 10 calls. Dont ever buy anything from T-Mobile.

I get perfect signal at my house. However, dropped calls have become a persistent and increasing problem recently. Sprint's acquisition of Nextel seemed to make things worse.

Get poor to no service. Around the I drive area from Central Florida to Sand Lake poor to no reception. Very spotty around town. Nextel needs to get on the ball. I know I am switching as soon as my contract is up.

We are a medical office, and for the past year the reception is only getting worse. Between dropped calls and poor signal strength. It is a problem for the Doctors to have bad phone service while our staff using TMobile and Cingular have better reception.

Nextel is not looking good, I only get about 3 minutes in a phone call b4 it gets dropped. Nextel need to get their stuff str8. FRIDGE!

The reception has been getting steadily worse in the Orlando area. I have recently spoken with Nextel and the only thing that they can tell me is that 1. They have no plans to upgrade / increase the coverage in the Orlando area, aka no new towers and 2. They are still repairing hurricane damage from a year ago. I am switching my company to another carrier.

When I first got Nextel service several years ago I was very pleased with service. I had been warned that if I got out of populated areas, my phone would not work but I've traveled quite a bit and never had a problem. However, the last 6 months or so I have been having problems with dropped call or no signal available. This dispite the fact that I will have 3-4 bars signal strength showing. I have sometimes had to call back someone 3 times in 5 minutes to complete a conversation. Also, the PTT feature is worthless when you cannot get through, or you start a conversation only to loose a signal after someone has said something to you. I agree with another reviewer, it looks like their system is maxed out. Nextel is more expensive for the number of minutes than any other service but I always felt it was worth it because the wave length the service uses allows me to talk inside buildings where other phones will not work. However I am looking at alternatives due to the frustration of poor signal quality.

I can't get reception for the life of me. It shows on my phone 4 bars, but as soon as it connects to who I'm calling it drops to 0 and says to retry. I really dislike my service and am about to change it over.

Nextel gets great service in our area, sometimes overloaded circuits are a problem but more often than not reception is perfect even if you keep the phone in your pocket. No signal searching with the antenna up, generally signal is never a problem.

Drops in and out, messages arrive very late. Phone often gives incompatible charger message. Calls to Nextel to get this reception problem fixed go unanswered. Very dissapointed. What we were promised and what we got far from meet expectations.

Very strong reception in the area, good signal in house. Have had no reception problems with the service at all.
