The area where I live is close to Disney, so great reception is expected. The whole way down Osceola Parkway to my job has nearly full signal. The only place that doesn't have great service is down towards Poinciana.

I always get good reception with AT&T. No cell phone provider is going to have perfect service. It all depends on the phone you are using.

Actually at Orlando Int'l Airport. I work way inside the bowels of the mail terminal, but not all the time. When I do work in the baggage room, I get spotty reception. Either it's no bars or 1 or 2 bars. A couple of coworkers have showed me a couple of tricks to improve recption. 1) hold my phone near the back of a PC. 2) hold it over my head or rest it on a shelf above me. Just paranoid I mite leave behind. My only solution is to get a CDMA phone. For now I am using Virgin mobile. Thinking of switching to MetroPCS. To be honest, T-Mobile put up some new towers near by and their reception is MUCH better than when I 1st started working at OIA 6 yrs ago! Since T-Mobile went 3g, will that improve reception? Just wondering Rob

Alltel's PRL's do not allow EVDO in florida, but using Sprint PRL's programmed into our phones it works pretty well. Speeds vary depending on which site your phone is registerd on at the time. Coverage is usually never a problem for me either, well atleast for all the areas in central florida where I travel.

The voice service is fairly decent throughout most of Orlando, FL, however Alltel doesn't cover the area yet -- you're roaming for free on Sprint and Verizon which doesn't include high-speed EvDO. If I had to live there for more than a year I would be forced to switch mobile providers due to the lack of EvDO.

Nextel coverage is poor throughout the central Fl area. Im a truck driver, that experiences weak reception almost everywhere that I travel in the central Fl region. Dropped calls have become the norm. Customer service is a joke. My contract expires in Oct. hopefully my patience out lives my contract.
