AT&T is the worst. I had T-Mobile for many years in this area with no home phone and no headaches. I switched to AT&T in Jan 04 and have had 9 months of horrible service. You can't have a conversation that lasts more that 5 minutes with a dropped call or a 30 drop in service. They have me tied into a 2 year contract for a piece of crap system that does not work. The customer service is even worse than their reception.

Receive and make calls from in the house. Rarely the calls go straight to voice mail (about once a week). Somtimes the reception is pitchy. But overall is a great service, much better value than AT&T and the company actually tries to keep your business.

I live in a 2nd floor condo on the golf course in tarpon woods blvd. We do not have a patio and have to put our ears to the window in the living room to get a signal. Help. is there any phone that metro PCS carries that will have a better signal?

I get no reception inside my house.Outside on the patio, I get 1 bar, 2 if I am lucky. I am usually able to make / receive call at the outer periphery of my patio or on my driveway. However, even those calls drop sometimes and the audio quality is poor.

I'm unable to use phone at home, inside or out. I don't get voice mail or text at times. I tried ATT because Sprint was equally bad. I'm very dissappointed.

I moved to Palm Harbor and had T-Mobile. I use my phone mostly at home. The reception was very poor in my home (although I do live in a concrete apartment, top floor, lots of windows) and, although I could occasionally make calls, the calls would break up or would get dropped. So I tried Verizon (trial period before you commit). Although, I did not get more than 2-3 bars, I was able to make calls clearly and they do not get dropped. In fact, I actually had a 1 hour long conversation where I had NO BARS and I heard and was heard totally fine. T-Mobile would show 3-4 bars but the reception would still be bad so I don't think bars mean much anymore. I think that reception in general is bad in this area, esp. in my complex, but between the 2 services, Verizon clearly was the winner. As of now, I make calls all the time with only 1-2 bars and have never had a problem. If I go outside my immediate home area (East Lake Rd. / Ridgmoor Blvd), I get the full # of bars for both T-Mobile and Verizon but I still think that Verizon has better sound quality. T-Mobile calls sound choppy; Verizon is much smoother.

Bought the new VX8000 and VERY glad I did. It is alot more obvious than ever now that if you want good service, you need a good phone. Before I had a T720 Moto, which works well at home too, but with this new one everything works better than it did. (Ex: Call quality, voice quality, txt messaging) So before you flip out and say that so and so service sucks look at how old your handset is. (From Experience) Service providers in order from best to worst: 1. Verizon. If you have a decent handset then you will have great coverage everywhere except deep inside buildings. (Duh) 2. Nextel. Works nearly everywhere, alot included 4 money. A little expensive. 3. Alltel - Works surprisingly well in alot of buildings. 4. Sprint - OK. Not too good, but they offer alot of service options. 5. Cinular / ATT - DON'T do it if you value your life. They give the crappiest free phones on earth, you have 1 way convos. and the customer service is like talking to a slightly inteligent rat. :-) Get Verizon, They are the best area hands down.

Very poor reception on the side streets off from Tampa Rd. Verizon was not interested in fixing the problem, but was more interested in blaming the actual cell phone. However, the exact same poor communications was noticed with 2 Motorola phones, a LG, and a Samsung. All three mentioned Verizon phones work perfectly outside of this "poor reception" area.
