Just switched over to T-Mobile from another service provider after contract expired (wanted to try something new). BIG MISTAKE! Bad reception at my house. 0 to 2 signal bars at best. I either get disconnected while on the phone or have a "choppy" connection. I was trying to remedy the problem with T-Mobile Customer Care service over the phone and I even get disconnected from them! Looks like I will be going back to my old cell phone service provider... which rhymes with CONNECTION!
When I have reception its great, but most of the time I cant get service. I hate that I can't get service inside of my house. ATT was great in kentucky but it sucks in pc
Reception in the house is useless. Reception outside can vary from useless to 4 bars depending on where in the yard you stand. Not having reception in the house is unacceptable.
If you live in the Panama City area, NEVER choose AT&T as your carrier. If you do have AT&T, I hope you jump to another carrier as I soon plan to do. Reception is HORRIBLE. I can barely manage 1 bar within my house, and maybe 3 bars outside of it. Usually I am greeted with less than zero bars (the antenna signal doesn't even appear) and if I try to dial a number, I am rebuked with an "emergency calls only" message! My calls are constantly dropped. I have had over 5 drops within a 10 minute conversation. It is always a gamble whether or not a call will go through, and then beyond that whether or not I can make it through without getting dropped. I have it from a friend who sold cells phones under multiple carriers that Verizon is quite nice... I think maybe I'll give one of their stores a visit soon.
Very good service almost everywhere but at home (East Callaway Heights area). This is my first wireless so I really can't compare with other providers. The map shows a Verizon tower close by so if a strong signal is important while in this area they may be a better choice.
A friend convinced me to try Alltel and I must say I've been very impressed with how strong the signal is in this area. I specifically live off of Lake Dr. but the reception has been pretty much perfect throughout the area. I even get a signal throughout the dreaded Wal-Marts where my friends often drop calls. Very happy with reception, they must have put a lot of towers up here because it's a tourist destination. But no dropped calls or any problems. Also, the company seems a little more customer friendly than my old provider (Cingular), not only with more helpful customer service but if you compare the plans, Alltel gives more minutes and My Circle is a good deal. I'm happy with them. The Alltel salesman also told me to invest in a good phone like a Motorola because that really helps the calls sound clearer and better so that's what I did and they sound great.
