The last couple of years with Alltel were great after they added a tower on Hwy. 62, when they were bought out by Verizon I wonder if they cut back or eliminated some of their towers because the reception was terrible. We now have boosters in our home and in our office and this helps but the downside is if someone is using the internet it interferes with the signal and breaks up the call. We have 5 lines with Verizon but I would quickly jump ship if someone had better coverage in Parrish, I was the ATT guy on the side of the road waving at passer bye's and had considered checking them out, so thanks for the reviews that saved me from wasting my time.

I have never had a problem with reception except in the Alps. Have I just been lucky with Verizon?!? Others could not get reception unless outside my home (Sprint and Metro). I'm looking for a new work phone with good reception covering all of Parrish. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

If I get a single bar, it's usually for half a second. Dropped calls, have to have people call back on house phone because even if call goes thru, breaks up so bad you can't understand the person on the other end. Sometimes just get voicemail, phone doesn't ring. Inside or outside house reception is horrible. Have emailed and called Verizon multiple times. They keep telling me to call the support line from Hell that never gets you to a real person. I have a direct number to someone in support, have called 3 times and left messages, still no return call. Trying to get a tech to come to my house so they can see how lousy the signal is. I pay a fortune for this plan and would like to use the phone at my house, but basically unusable in Parrish, FL.

Can call from outside the home but, indoors is absolutely horrible. Drop calls, can not hear or, the other party is garbled they can not hear me. These companys are raking in the bucks, they should be able to provide decent service no matter where. Fortunately do not have a contract but, which carrier to pick? And by the way, should not have to spend hundreds for a decent phone.

Miss calls all the time due to no service. Frequent dropped calls. Called Verizon and they want you to pay for a signal booster when it is a lack of service on their end. They need to update towers with the growing occuring in Parrish.

Rarely works inside my house but I'm saving a ton of money by having my unlocked and jailbroken iPhone on T-Mobile instead of AT&T. If someone needs to get a hold of me, they will just have to call my home phone.

Had Verizon and it stopped working. Called them about bad service and was told that the cellt sight was nolonger facing east from I75 but was turned away due to the high damand west of I75. Swiched to ATT Iphone and it works great. Expensive but I can now get calls at home.

I mostly only have one bar of reception on my phone but it seems I don't really need more because I don't drop signals from inside my home. I'm happy with Verizon and the voice quality I get is amazing when you think about the fact that I never have more than 1 bar of signal inside my house. When I move outside my house the signal increases and I don't even have to worry about my hand covering up my phone's antenae. Around the Sarasota Bradenton area I have amazing coverage as well. This area is pretty much blanketed with signal by Verizon.

Signal strength if highly variable moving from no bars to three bars just a few steps away. Always works better outside. Same performance around many parts of Bradenton, the signal bars jump up and down over short distances and will cause a dropped call.

Ok, I have had Sprint for almost 5 years, 3 of them in Southwest Florida. Coverage is excellent at my home and I have no complaints around the Sarasota Bradenton area and all the way on up thru Tampa Bay area. I travel east county frequently out Fruitville, SR 70, SR 64, and US 301, and all around sarasota and bradenton and it rarely if ever lets me down. I have an excellent phone. My advice, spend a few extra dollars to get one of their better phones or else you'll be sorry no matter who's network you are on (coverage isn't just a function of the tower but also the phone you have, cheap phone equals cheap reception)! There is one place in SRQ that sucks no matter who's network you are on. It's about 1 mile east if I75 on Bee Ridge Rd near the Sarasota Alliance Church. There's something going on in that area that is interfering with signals.
