Had Verizon and it stopped working. Called them about bad service and was told that the cellt sight was nolonger facing east from I75 but was turned away due to the high damand west of I75. Swiched to ATT Iphone and it works great. Expensive but I can now get calls at home.
I mostly only have one bar of reception on my phone but it seems I don't really need more because I don't drop signals from inside my home. I'm happy with Verizon and the voice quality I get is amazing when you think about the fact that I never have more than 1 bar of signal inside my house. When I move outside my house the signal increases and I don't even have to worry about my hand covering up my phone's antenae. Around the Sarasota Bradenton area I have amazing coverage as well. This area is pretty much blanketed with signal by Verizon.
Signal strength if highly variable moving from no bars to three bars just a few steps away. Always works better outside. Same performance around many parts of Bradenton, the signal bars jump up and down over short distances and will cause a dropped call.
Ok, I have had Sprint for almost 5 years, 3 of them in Southwest Florida. Coverage is excellent at my home and I have no complaints around the Sarasota Bradenton area and all the way on up thru Tampa Bay area. I travel east county frequently out Fruitville, SR 70, SR 64, and US 301, and all around sarasota and bradenton and it rarely if ever lets me down. I have an excellent phone. My advice, spend a few extra dollars to get one of their better phones or else you'll be sorry no matter who's network you are on (coverage isn't just a function of the tower but also the phone you have, cheap phone equals cheap reception)! There is one place in SRQ that sucks no matter who's network you are on. It's about 1 mile east if I75 on Bee Ridge Rd near the Sarasota Alliance Church. There's something going on in that area that is interfering with signals.
