Nextel iden service great. Sprint CDMA needs antenna on tower in Ponce Inlet. They just recently added iden service summer '05 maybe CDMA is next. Faded signal at the Inlet Harbour and A1A intersection
good signal, but function is terrible. usually sounds like underwater (i.e. droppped packets). tower is obviously overloaded. borders on unusable. Not the phone, all my neighbors have the same problem.
In the Tomoka State Park you will pull around 4 / 7 bars on Cingular GSM network. If you are at BASE CAMP. If you go conoeing, or hiking into the woods you will most likley only get 2 / 7 or even loose serivce in some of the more rural areas of the park.
Nextel coverage is very poor here; I also have Cingular (Nokia 6010 GSM) ant the Cingular has full service. There is a Cingular and Verizon Tower.5 mi. north east of the intersection.
Reception is spotty at best with this phone. Living 10 miles away from Daytona Speedway and Nextel being a major sponser, I expect better service. The most customer service would do is tell me to cancel my account and get another carrier.
