We have had Alltel for almost two years now and have had a few complaints but overall, the service is great. Had a few dropped calls (standard for any wireless carrier), great for going out of town and state, handsets tend to act weird when using bluetooth technology, very limited selection of upgraded phones, top 10 friends list that you can call for free, not good at sending picture messages with older models, and very good with bargaining for lower billing prices.

Honestly I don't think that it is the service. I have had Cingular and previously ATT for years and had great service. I purchased 4 Motorola RAZR phones and I have never had worse reception in all my life. My wife just switched from her $200 RAZR to a cheap Nokia and has full bars everywhere she goes. I'm telling you it is the phone. I had an old Nokia before I bought the RAZR and had perfect reception with no dropt calls. For Cingular to say that they are "the company with the least drop calls" they better take the RAZR off the market because it will lose business for them. I work for the Fire Dept and my family has to leave when the hurricanes come in south FL. well I like to talk to them throughout the storm and was unable to last year so maybe with the new Sony Ericson W600I I'll do better.

HORRID! We have actually been on the phone speaking to someone when the other person will hear a operator come on and say that this phone is not a working number.. in the middle of the call and then drop ?!? why they don't build a tower or 12 is beyond me - but they lost US as customers! Verizon here we come -- and believe me - I am not happy about that - Verizon has ugly phones :( but good service -- sigh...

Cingular sucks in PSL. Dead zones everywhere = lots of dropped calls... I had US Cellular / Nokia before and if I ever dropped a call I knew it was the other party.

Have to constantly go outside to get a signal. Constantly dropping calls. Signal is also bad in St. Lucie West Area. Looking for new provider!

Cingular is fair. The thing that gets me is that my phone will show five bars but I get no reception and drop calls. This happens all the time in the Jensen area and out by Home Depot on St. Lucie West. I go to Orlando, Miami, all over really and have no issues anywhere else. We all live in a Cellular Black Hole!

Cingular Service at this part of Port St. Lucie is Baaad. Drop calls all the time, poor reception and I always have to walk outside to talk without intermittent breakups. Had Verizon before and it was much better

Its not always one bar, it varies between one and three bars and floats up and down. Sometimes I can initiate a call and can't complete it. Yesterday I had to replay my voice mail 4 times because it kept cutting out. I've reported this to Cingular 611 three times in the last 2 months and they do nothing. I can't recommend this service.

Reception on the island from about 2 miles north of the Jensen Beach causeway going south is very spotty.

From the island to the mainland reception falls off to nothing and back. This begins just before the causeway on A1A and continues until you are to the circle at Indian River road
