Phone always in search mode. Have to turn it off when not using it to save battery. Sprint says phone checks out OK.

I was with AT&T and my service was good. When they merged with Cingular, my service was average, but declined each month to the point that I would have no bars and could not use my phone at home at all. Cingular stated that I needed a new phone and needed to be on the GSM network in order to get quality service. The problem was that they would not honor the plan that I had originally signed up for with AT&T, hence, they did not have a phone to sell me. I contacted the public relations department and still no resolution. I talked with someone from the Office of the President's office and the rep provided me with some options, better than what was being offered on the site, and sent me a free SLVR phone. After a couple days of using Cingular, now on the "optimal" GSM network, which turned out to be terrible. I contacted Cingular and they said it could be the device. They sent me another SLVR. The reception was still terrible. Friends and family who called said my voice was muffled and skipping. Same problem when trying to hear them, also, I could hear clicks, and buzzing sounds. I switched to Sprint, which so far has been clear reception. I used to like Cingular, but I'm disappointed in their service and technical support. There motto is raising the bar. I hardly had a one bar. They are also pitching they have the fewest dropped calls, but what about the service in general. Perhaps they do have the fewest dropped calls, but that wasn't my issue. I couldn't hear the person on the other end and they couldn't hear me. Hopefully they'll fix their systems so other Cingular users don't have to deal with these frustrations.

Phone is unusable in my home. Phone can not even find the network at times. I have had dropped calls as well. Problem has been going on for 3 months and Cingular did absolutely nothing to fix my problem. Service was very good prior to that time. Company wouldn't even connect me with a person in tech support, said it wasn't there policy. Spent hours on the phone talking to there customer service and only received ridiculous suggestions. Very dissatisfied with Cingular's performance.

Verizon is the best in this area. There are very few holes in coverage. T-Mobile and Cingular have many reception problems in this area.

I have dropped calls every single time. It's so bad there are days I cannot even access my voicemail. My phone frequently goes into "emergency only" mode. Seemed to have gotten worse after AT&T merged with Cingular. I am so steamed I am ready to pay $$$ to terminate the contract early.

I'll keep at a short as possible... Alltel is the ONLY provider that i've had any decent call quality out of Cingular, T-Mobile, Sprint, and my buddy counldn't even get service with his MetroPCS phone once he came inside my house... my wife and I used to have dropped calls, echos, and garbled connections with all other services, even with 3 or more signal bars... In this area, Alltel is the way to go, better plans, smarter customer service reps, and FAR better call clearity...

Some dropped calls and signal break-up. I don't have a landline anymore so this is my lifeline. I get 2 to 4 bars most of the time, but have a lot of sound quality issues.

I have never had a dropped call with Verizon wireless. From the beaches on the coast to inside the St. Pete Times Forum (nobody else had phones that worked inside the building), and ALL THE WAY on the Howard Franklin... verizon wireless is the best option to be found if you live anywhere in the tampa bay area from Clearwater to Tampa, and south into St. Petersburg.

Constantly drop calls inside of the house. Need to go outside to have meaningful conversations. Purchased two phones (also an LG AX5000) and both have poor reception. Verizon Wireless was our previous carrier, and as overpriced as I think they are, they appear to be a much better option today than they did before.

New company phone. Had Alltel with bad phone but fair to good reception. New phone is with Sprint and poor to no reception, sometimes roam, sometimes nothing. Have had phone ring but can't connect (dropped calls). Cannot connect to voicemail to get lost messages. Can't get signal in my cube and little outside of building. Should have stayed with Alltel. Never go with Sprint again.

My cell phone is useless in the house and useless until I walk out into the middle of the street, at which point I can SOMETIMES get a weak signal. Apparently, there are problems with reception all along this street, as it's common to see neighbors walking around outside talking on their wireless phones. I rented a place three minutes from here before I bought this house and reception was fine there. Go figure. I'm in the middle of St. Petersburg, FL and I can't use my cell phone. What's more, Verizon doesn't seem to give a flying f--k. My contract is up in December and I am outta here. Will make sure I don't sign on for the long haul with any other carrier until I'm sure I can use my freakin' phone at home.

I have been with the same provider since 1993... they had been GTE Mobilnet... reception has never been a problem. The thing that may have me changing carriers is their declining service and phone selection. I have had a couple of bad Motorola phones in the past, but Alltel's people made the difference (trading out phones, updating software, or simply moving me to different models)... but now it seems like the stores no longer have any power to do anything. I got the V60 because it was supposed to have been a "proven" phone, but the data / power port is poorly designed and fails all the time, so I randomly end up with a dead phone that I thought had charged overnight, or won't connect to my hands-free unit in the car... or worse yet, connects intermittently. Alltel did change out my chargers and cables for a while -- which would help a little -- but it now seems they just wanted me to keep the phone until the warranty ended, and now they just say it's between me and Moto.
