After complaining for 2 years to level 3 VZW tech support, all of a sudden in late 2008 my signal inside the house went from 0 to 1 bar to a solid 4 bars! In the past we could not use the phone except near a window. Now, we have a rock solid signal anywhere in the house. VZW said they had a new tower planned for "some time early in 2009", but they said the same thing in 2007, "sometime early in 2008", so I didn't believe them. Looks like it finally happened!
I have been using AT&T cell service since 2003 or maybe it's the other way around. I started with Motorola v60i phone and my spouse had a Nokia 6200. Service declined after AT and T acquired Cingular. When hurricanes Frances and Jeanne hit in 2004, AT and T "generously" gave me extra minutes and a 2 year contract extension to make up for our land line going out. Nothing like taking advantage of a stressful situation. On our current LG phones with Cingular logos (past 3 years) we have experienced many dropped calls and static. There are dead spots on I95 between Palm Bay and Sebastian and on CR510 near Vero Lake Estates. At home (Sebastian), the bars fluctuate from 1 to 3 and sometimes require me to go outside to get a signal. Either it's lousy service or planned obsolescence. Hopefully, someone else can benefit from this information. As for me, I'm ready for two cans and a string.
I live just south of Barefoot Bay, zero reception in my home. Verizon sucks azz. My daughter has Metro PC and has better results, but still barely one bar.
Sometimes I have 5 Bars during the day, but late afternoon and evening it drops to 1 and even no bars at all, during that time sometimes I can't even use my cell phone at all.
cannot get coverage inside the house unless by a window, and then still poor. Nov. 06 Verizon tech support admitted having numerous complaints of poor reception and said they were building a new tower that would be on-line within 30 days. As of 5 / 07, coverage has not changed - still very poor. With an roof mounted Wilson Truckers antenna, reception goes from barely 1 bar to a solid 3 bars.
always works in Vero, Fellsmere, Sebastian, Micco, Barefoot Bay, Beachside always a signal never drops service been a customer of verizon, and Sprint T-Mobile is much better than both customer service is awesome and its cheap.
Unless I travel to bigger cities (outside Sebastian) I never see more than 2 bars of service. Having said that I'm still able to make calls, althougth they fade at times I'm still able to make some calls. But primarily use this as a Data Device and it almost always signs on. In short poor signal strength does not seem ot have an adverse effect on Data with Verizon, but does make calls fade in / out or prevent calls from being made.
I have been a Sprint customer for 5 yrs. to long. Am parting ways with them in 2 weeks thank god.The topper was 4 nights ago when I went to make a call and found it was turned off by customer sevice by mistake, and no-one could activate it for 2 days. I had to drive to Vero beach Sprint store to be re-programed. 28 miles one way. No credit or were sorry. well i'm sorry for them.
