When I ride around in the Seffner / Windhorst Rd area the signal from the towers aren't that good and yes AT&T knows about I doubt their going to fix the low signal in the area.

I-4 from Plant City to I-75, Seffner, FL 33584 |

The reception area that runs west from Plant City thru to the I-4 / I-75 is very poor not only for Nextel, but with Sprint as well. This territory of poor reception runs south to SR 574, northwards to Thonotosassa Rd. I left Sprint because of the gapping holes of coverage. Nextel is not as bad in the Tampa Bay area, but the bridges also pose a problem as previously mentioned. I carry both the i530 (work) and the i730 (personal) at all time. I also cover an 8 county area. The above mentioned area is the worst. From my own personal experience because my wife travels the country, she has proven time and time again that Verizon has the best signal all over the country. I gave her a i60 to use just for Direct Connect and it wouldn't work in Maine, some parts of New York City, and suburbs of Detroit. I also use a High Speed Verizon Wireless air card for my work laptop that stays connected 13 hrs a day straight. This is a must for anyone who works in the field that does not connect to wireless network. Hands down, this is the best out there. My wife currently carries T-Mobile (Sony Ericsson T610) with a USB / Bluetooth adapter for their Bluetooth capable phones that offers about 1/3 of what speed I connect with my Verizon Wireless Card. Coverage issues with T-Mobile, Nextel, and Sprint have already convinced us both that Verizon offers the coverage and call quality that we both require. I'll make do until Verizon offers their High Speed 3G phones that are due out Spring 2005.

I've had excellent reception in the entire Seffer / Valrico / Brandon area with several different phones over the last two years. Signal is usually great (even all the way out to Plant City or Lakeland) and I very rarely drop a call. I'm actually very surprised to hear that any other T-Mobile customers don't get good reception.

T-Mobile has virtually no reception in this area. I have 0 reception in my house, and have to walk outside to get 1 bar. T-Mobile has good rateplans, but poor service. I wish cell phone companies and the carriers would stop adding more gizmos to the phones and just provide great service and reception. I don't need a camera, MP3 player or anything else in my phone. I just want to talk.
