When I first bought Verizon I had trouble at home with reception. When I called to complain about the dropped calls, they were very responsive, giving credits and even sending an engineer to my house to measure signal and see if there was anything they could do. They provided a new phone, which helped. Within a year they built a new tower near southwood which fixed the problem completely. I travel all over the country and have found the coverage and reception excellent.

I have had Verizon for almost 8 years. Never had a problem. Starting noticing no signal around Bannerman Rd and Meridian Rd while heading to Rt 12. No signal there at all. We moved to Benjamin Chaires 3 weeks ago and I want to throw my phone at a wall. I have to sit on my bed with my head almost out the window for it to work at all, and that is not very good. Even going outside only helps a little, calls are still dropped. My husband has a Motorola and doesn't have as big a problem, but sometimes calls don't come in, he just ends up with suprise voicemail. My step son has Sprint and he has no problem at all in the house. Going to Verizon today to see if they can fix it.

No more Alltel, no more talking in my house. Ever since Verizon took over I have to go outside to make or receive calls. Before Verizon, I could talk anywhere in my house, even the basement. I've also uploaded the new roaming list with no effect. wtf?

About 6 1 / 2 miles to nearest tower at Meridian Rd. and Bannerman. No coverage with any provider here since Altel gone. Verizon promises improvements, but has been singing the same song for nearly a year. Texting works well, but to call, must go into back yard, face southeast, stand on one foot, stick tongue out, and hope a bird doesn't fly by! If you're considering relocating to Meridian Hills, learn how to send smoke signals.

I have lived in this area for 2 years. I can say that I have had only few dropped calls in the time I been here. I get near perfect reception indoors... 4 or 5 bars out of 5 on the phone. I have only had a few dropped calls since I moved in this area. I think there is a Verizon site at the TV station by the engineering school. I have tried T-Mobile but the reception varies greatly inside on the phones I used (Nokia, Motorola), I have gotten anything from 0 bars / no service to 2 or 3 bars in my place and 4 or 5 outside. Calls usually garble in my apt. AT&T has full bars outside, but I only get 2 or 3 bars inside along with garbled calls indoors and outdoors.

I've been having trouble with Verizon in this area, yet when I get out of my neighborhood I don't have any problems with making calls. I don't get it. The bars are up it just won't send or receive calls and my phone says it can't connect.

The only way I get reception in my apt is standing by the window, and I only ever have 1 bar. Outside my apartment it works fine, but as soon as I walk in the door I lose reception. I complained to Verizon and their response was: "cell phones aren't designed to be used indoors." yeah... ok. anyway, the reception is very poor and even when sanding at the window my phone sometimes drops calls.

By the window inside it is a 4 bar reception. However, int the kitchen away form the window, it is about 1 bar reception. A big difference. But I have to tell ya, I have had Sprint and Cingular in Tally Town and both sucked when I was living at Blairstone At Governors Square Apartments by the Gov Sqr Mall. That was over two years ago. So I wouldnt want anyone else but Verizon.
