I have lived in this area for 2 years. I can say that I have had only few dropped calls in the time I been here. I get near perfect reception indoors... 4 or 5 bars out of 5 on the phone. I have only had a few dropped calls since I moved in this area. I think there is a Verizon site at the TV station by the engineering school. I have tried T-Mobile but the reception varies greatly inside on the phones I used (Nokia, Motorola), I have gotten anything from 0 bars / no service to 2 or 3 bars in my place and 4 or 5 outside. Calls usually garble in my apt. AT&T has full bars outside, but I only get 2 or 3 bars inside along with garbled calls indoors and outdoors.

Once I get at Louvinia and turn onto Williams Rd heading in the W.W. Kelly road area... no reception at all. Guess what? That's where I live!

I've been using Cingular / AT&T for many years. The coverage has only gotten better. I've only experienced one dead zone in Tallahassee and that was off Apalachee Pkwy. in the Timber Ridge neighborhood. No service is available in that location, but move out onto Apalachee Pkwy. and reception comes back. Making trips out of town have been a joy with AT&T. Service is good as far west as I have been (Gulfport, MS) and as far east as I have gone. (Jacksonville / St. Augustine) Those who state they have had trouble with AT&T service, beware, they may just have an ax to grind. As far as I am concerned, service could not be better.

I've been having trouble with Verizon in this area, yet when I get out of my neighborhood I don't have any problems with making calls. I don't get it. The bars are up it just won't send or receive calls and my phone says it can't connect.

Two bars if the wind blows. Very disappointed with AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile and Alltel. This location is home to several thousand homes within a 2 mile radius, but the towers at so far away that this prime residential area lacks cellular coverage. If the major carriers but towers near the Catholic church, they would see more use of the service and put the local phone carrier out of business! But, it must be hip to be mediocre.

have been happy Alltel customer since 2005, then about a month ago began getting "searching for network" and "roaming messages and no service. have called to report problem 5 times now and and am afraid I will have to change service if problem not resolved this week. strange to have such excellent service then no service1. In my neighborhood, close in on North Monroe Street, reception is terrible. Lot's of broken up conversations. A land line is a must. There is an old TV tower on North Monroe, between Bradford Rd.and John Knox Road, and that may be the cause of the problem... .

Never Drop a call, Never have a problem, Phone only roams when it's in my pocket going under an expanse of trees. better the phone you have the better your reception will be

Alltell does a fine job in and about Tallahassee.

At TCC campus, Sprint and T-Mobile are a no-go. AT&T and Alltel are the only ones with strong service.

Only get 1 bar at home with ATT. No one can understand our conversations.

I love Alltel. I have been with several carriers and they all suck compared to Alltel. My mother has been through several as well and seems to be always looking at her phone.. it's sprint... its always searching for service or roaming no matter where we go. I always have service. Of course there are a few small areas where reception sucks.. but what do you expect when you are driving through 100 miles of NOTHING. Nextel is the WORST! I have friends that NEVER answer their phones becuase.. guess what.. IT DOESNT RING! I would definitely recommend Alltel to anyone living in Flordia. My service has been awesome and the customer service is really good too. Just make sure you get it from an ACTUAL Alltel STORE and not an 'authorized dealer'. At the store they will replace it on the spot.. at the Auth Dealer you have some serious problems on your hands. Blue Skies...

Can't even recieve missed calls in the my house. Have to go outside and wave my phone around to get a couple bars to check my voicemail. Also, sometimes I can't check my voicemail because my phone sometimes says Cingular. Very frustrating!

I have had great reception here with Cingluar (now AT&T) for many years. I get 5 bars all the way until about 2 miles from the Florida / Georgia border. It used to be that I had no reception at the Texaco just across the border, but now I get 2-3 bars and can make calls just fine. Inside my house Thomasville and Foxcroft Dr. I get 5 bars provided I am sitting at my desk near a window. At work, Thomasville and Metropolitan Blvd, I also get 5 bars. This is just south of I-10. Inside, 3-5 bars depending on where I am in the building and proximity to a window. People who are expecting 5 bars inside a building are just dreaming. The structures just block some of the signal.

Complete lack of service in many spots on Williams Rd. Drops completely around Louvinia, through W.W. Kelley and returns somewhere on Tram Road.

Constantly having dropped calls and garbled reception. This is the heart of the state capitol.

Cingular is much better reception then Alltel... at least out here southwest of Woodville.

I travel the city continuosly, and get dropped calls all over, especially in the areas listed above. Have been with Nextel for 6 years. The cell service has sucked horribly for the past 18 months. I am looking forward, eagerly, to a new cell service provider.
