I think it is true when Cingular says they have the fewest missed calls. In the past, my problems with my phone have been due the condition of the actual phone. (I drop phones alot) I had probs. with reception with Cingular a while back, but once I got a new (and better) phone-the problem disappeared completely. The only time I don't get a signal is in the same place that doesn't get one with ANY carrier- inside the airport and in that one area on the Veterans right near it.

I've been with Cingular for about 5 years now and they continue to get worse and worse... .and that catch phrase "fewer drop calls" is absolute baloney!... I had to walk out of the bar and into the middle of the parking lot to get one single bar to make a call and it kept dropping. I called customer service a few times and they admitted to bad service areas in the Tampa area and said I should consider buying one of their high end phones!

Very good reception throughout the area for me. I don't go out of the area very much so don't know about the rest of Florida, but it's great for me here.

Always droping one side of the call, so the other persons shows they are still on, you just can't hear them. Always has a horrible static when on the phone. Also, sometimes people cant get through, says network is too busy. Changing asap. Would not recommend.

I live in Tampa Palms. I don't get any receiption with Verizon when I'm inside. If I walk out the front door a pick up a Verizon tower, but if I walk out the back I get Alltel and have to dial 813 to call Tampa. I also noticed that it won't work inside most Muvico theatres and picks up Alltel when I leave the theater, but I can fix it by turning the phone off and on.

Terrible reception south of gandy, heading north the reception improves. Like the plan and circle of 10, but will have to change due to the dropped calls and lack of reception

My coverage is good here in Temple Terrace. Inside my house I get 2 bars and outside I get 4 bars. 2 bars is enough to carry on a clear conversation anywhere in my home. Verizon Wireless is by far the best carrier overall. Check out JDPower / Consumer Reports. Nobody can touch them.

Cannot get reception in my home / home office on Watrous Ave. near Bayshore. Friends with Verizon get it just fine here. Sprint people told me, "oh, well, sometimes you just can't get it everywhere." Been with Sprint 9 years, but must change as I run a business.

Poor, hardly useable signal inside home. Signal improves outside. A call to T-Mobile yielded that they "lowered" their towers for "better" reception. They told me they had no plans to change when I complained (My problems started when they "lowered" their towers.

No inside reception... .Poor outside reception... ... .

I have Sprint, and I do seem to have low bar levels most of the time in Tampa, sometimes even near towers, could be because of the towers receiver ownership, I am happy, pretty much with Sprint service, but we Sprint users, according to what i,ve read in the reviews above, could use better reception, I know all cell phone users sure pay enough. Maybe if the c-phone companies concentrate more on service, and less on fancy features. thanks.

I used to love Nextel when I lived in upstate NY. Now I live in Tampa and I want to smash my phone into a thousand pieces. Dropped calls all the time. I get no reception at my house or my office. Everytime I'm by the airport, it cuts in and out. Also, I'm paying overages because I keep having to reconnect and making a 5 minute conversation into a 30 minute conversation. "are you there, hello, oh there you are, wait... . you still there?"

No Reception in my apartment, but 2 bars out of 4 once I go outside. Average reception.

sprint's pretty good everywhere here in Tampa. I get good receptions here, on the islands, in St. petersburg and clearwater. Never dropped any calls. Sometimes the phone has to roam, but Sprint doesn't charge me for roaming.

Nextel service in this area is extremely poor..we jokingly call it no-tel at work..drops every call if you connect at all..new Verizon px works great

Sprint has no signal whatsoever in this intersection, when you are not in roaming you don't have signal at all.

Somewhere in this area of 275 there is a dead spot. Guaranteed to drop a call.
