No reception. Unable to place or receive calls. Unable to text. I spoke to top tier support and they advised me that they are in the planning stages of a new site but until then, there will be no resolution.

sprint's pretty good everywhere here in Tampa. I get good receptions here, on the islands, in St. petersburg and clearwater. Never dropped any calls. Sometimes the phone has to roam, but Sprint doesn't charge me for roaming.

Been with Sprint for three weeks and the reception is very bad every time I use the phone. Cuts out, static constantly. Had a TracFone before, worked perfectly.

Wife had Alltel for 7 years, worked good most places. I had T-Mobile for 4 years, worked good most places. We got 5 MetroPCS phones a couple months ago and the reception is Perfect everywhere in Tampa. 75% of the time ALL THE RECEPTION BARS ARE HIGHLIGHTED!

Frequent dropped calls and no reception in some rooms of house

I have Sprint, and I do seem to have low bar levels most of the time in Tampa, sometimes even near towers, could be because of the towers receiver ownership, I am happy, pretty much with Sprint service, but we Sprint users, according to what i,ve read in the reviews above, could use better reception, I know all cell phone users sure pay enough. Maybe if the c-phone companies concentrate more on service, and less on fancy features. thanks.

Nextel service in this area is extremely poor..we jokingly call it no-tel at work..drops every call if you connect at all..new Verizon px works great

Somewhere in this area of 275 there is a dead spot. Guaranteed to drop a call.

Usually great reception all over the state, except for a dead zone on I-4 between Orlando and Tampa - EXCEPT in Seminole Heights. Zero reception inside the house - poor reception outside the house. I am dropped from every call that I am on if driving on Florida near Sacred Heart Acaademy (MLK). Like clockwork.

I can barely get my phone to work in the 33604 area code. Closer to the beach it works better, but around here it's a joke. I have an AT&T phone too and have to switch off depending on where I am. I tell people, "Oh, try this number first, otherwise try this one." I just moved here. What a joke.

Very few dropped calls but network is sometimes overloaded - or so it seems. Person calling us may get a busy signal when we aren't on our cell.

Sometimes 4 bars, sometimes 2. Mostimes that's in the middle of a call and then it's dropped.

Cannot get reception in my home / home office on Watrous Ave. near Bayshore. Friends with Verizon get it just fine here. Sprint people told me, "oh, well, sometimes you just can't get it everywhere." Been with Sprint 9 years, but must change as I run a business.

Horrible reception from Cingular... they use all sorts of excuses like they are merging their network with AT&T. Cingular is definately not "raising the bar" as far as this customer is concerned. Almost impossible to make / place calls in this area. Cingular is also horrible throughout Tampa Bay -- stay away from the bay bridges -- that's for sure. Friends of mine on AllTel and Verizon don't have the same problems.

Generally speaking, Tampa is not a Nextel area. The reception is despicably poor across the majority of the city. I have complained numerous times to Cust Serv. Every time I get the same response - the Hurricanes from 2004 messed up alot of stuff. It's ridiculous. If I come across $200 I'll cancel my contract immediately.

The reception is poor many dropped calls sometime phone does not ring I use to have T-Mobile here and it was so much better.

GSM: Litany of semi-dropped calls (connected, but one party ceases to be able to hear the other) with both Cingular, other cellular, and wiredline phones; when I am stationary. Experienced problem intermittently in and around both Orlando and Tampa.
