I call it the "Jupiter Triangle". On I75 as you near Jupiter, calls drop. Strange because there are three cell towers right next to the interstate in the exact area the signal drops... and after the dropped call, you immediately get 5 bars! When is Alltel going to get a corporate store in West Palm? Long overdue for the "nations largest coverage area".

We have had Cingular for 2yrs now, and they suck! We have all the problems everyone else complains about- dropped calls (those commercials make me sick!) no signal, late messages, phone not ringing, etc. I am currently looking for another carrier as well as another phone. This time I am trying to do my homework before I am stuck again. We have had a poor experience with Nextel, have friends who suffer with Sprint, so... We are considering Verizon.

I switched to Cingular a little over a month ago from Nextel. I heard good things about Cingular, all the commercials and etc. I was a former Cellular One, then At&T customer so I figured since I had GREAT service with them in the past. I figured Cingular with new technology and more towers would be GREAT also.... ... . Boy was I fooled, I get great signal 4-5 bars everywhere but fewer dropped calls... . I don't know who they compared them too, but I drop approximately 60-70% of calls, and the other 30-40% of the calls are garbled so bad that I wish they would just drop. Cingular customer support is not very impressive either I was basically told that my 30 day trial period was over and I was stuck with the service for the next 2 years which I found to be unacceptable customer service. I don't know if it's the phone or the service but it's terrible. I wish Cellular One was back again. I had their service from 1988 with the bag style phone, went to the brick phone, then to a Motorola flip phone. I never dropped a call... . ever, sometimes a short burst of static but that was all. I traveled all over the US, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Italy and never had a problem (Italy had limited coverage at that time in 1993) but I talked from Italy to the US and everyone I talked to thought I was calling from the Hotel on a landline. Does anyone know of a phone and provider that offers service in the US and Virgin Islands that doesn't have signal issues or dropped or garbled calls?

I have dropped Cingular and switched over to Sprint since they have a better rate for the plan that I wanted. With Cingular I used to gets "Missed Call" messages when the phone never rang or I would get an alert that I have a message. This alert would come through on a Tuesday for a message that someone left on the previous Friday.

I was with AT&T and never had a problem. If I wanted to get a new phone, I had to switch to Cingular they said. So on a promotion, I got a Motorola V220, signed a two year contract, and a month into it, I am totally disgusted. After charging up the phone, I get one bar after a few hours, weak signal, calls breaking up or dropped and reception garbled. I called customer service, they said it may be the phone, so I returned the one I had and they sent me a new one. Same problem so it is definitely the service. I find myself talking until I realize no one is on the other end because the call was dropped. This is a common occurrence. Customer Service gives the same run around - tower problems, towers being worked on, is the weather bad?, etc. I'm at the point now that I am considering just paying the penalty to get out of this contract and going to another company. In the long run it will be cheaper. Why this company is allowed to continue to do such shoddy business amazes me. HELLO MOTO - CINGULAR SUCKS!

At&T's GSM phones are not good for traveling. They do not work outside of metro areas in Florida.

Fringe area. Goes from Cingular to AT&T to extended range within a 20' radius. Need to reposition or add a wider range trans / rec. A loaner GSM did the same. I guess a yagi antenna with a building repeater is the answer for here.

I have been with Nextel for 3 to 4 years and they have never failed me. I came from Cingular which back then was absolutely horrifying. Their costumer service was terrible. If I had a problem they told me oh well, there was nothing they could do about it. Now, with Nextel costumer service is always to set things right. Rather with credits to my account or free phones. They are great

Nextel says that the are getting better, better at what, dropping calls and giving you no reception. This company has been going down hill ever since the hurricanes. The best thing I licked about this phone was the 2 way, but that has gone also. It makes no sense way you have to pay your bill for service that doesn't work? Now that Sprint bought them out they say thay are better, but they are wrong. I have spoken to customer service and they told me that Sprint towers are not compatible with netel. So there you have it the company needs help. Hope who reads this makes a good decision on the company they get. Good luck to all Nextel customers.

Nextel coverage in this area is horrible. I cannot make a call from my neighborhood, and dropped calls are normal. The probelm extends for several MILES in this area as well as many other areas in West Palm Beach, including downtown!

I've been complaining to Nextel for 2 years about very poor signal strength with no results. Keep getting cards in the mail saying service in Wellington is going to get better in the next 30 days, but only gets worse (if that's possible). Nextel signal sucks all throughout he West Palm Beach area. I feel like I'm stuck because I've invested so much for the phones. I'm looking at my phone right now, and it has "no service". STAY AWAY FROM NEXTEL

Nextel's service in Florida (from West Palm to Miami) is the worst that I've ever experienced. I drive that route everyday and drop AT LEAST 10 calls per day. Their customer service is pleasant, but not helpful in terms of getting the situation rectified. Save yourself some aggravation and get any other carrier.

This company sucks after the hurricane. I have called about 20 times in two and a half month and the reception still sucks. They tell me everytime I call to make a ticket up with them so that they can check the towers. They leave me messages that its all taken care of, but the phone only gets good reception for about two days, after that it sucks again. I Suggest that you stick to a different company. Good luck!

Jog and Forest Hill have very bad reception with Nextel. I actually get quite a few dropped calls with Nextel in several areas. Nextel has got to have the worst reception problem of all the wireless carriers here.
