The reception at home in the Tuskawilla Subdivision is almost non existant. Most calls are missed or dropped. I noticed a new tower on the Map that I believe is located in the golf course. I have heard about this tower for probably 2 years, still nothing. What is the schedule to have it operational? The only way to have one bar is to step out in front of the house. Even then reception is poor.

Well like my post below says, I am a happy Sprint PCS customer now. In my house alone (not to mention the nieghbourhood) I can make and hold a CRYSTAL CLEAR call. I love Sprint! Plan to stay a long time! Sanyo also makes great phones if you are looking.

I have Cingular (switching to Sprint PCS tommorow). But I just wanted to let you all know that even though the Cingular map shows service in this nieghbourhood there maybe 2 bars at most. And even with those bars many calls are dropped (about 75% of mine), also many call fails where it will not even dialout. And I also get a lot of my inbound calls being sent directly to voicemail with no ringing of the phone - it was outrageous. AT&T DOES NOT have the least dropped calls. I find the GSM network that AT&T uses even when I do get full bars is very staticy, and choppy at best. I will be glad to be going to Sprint PCS!

Used this Audiovox 6700 (Sprint Pocket PC) for a few months for work. I had a very poor signal in or outside my house. I got barely two bars walking around outside, and one or none inside the house. I could make calls without problems, but had trouble receiving calls and often missed important ones. Because I could always make calls, I didn't realize what a problem I had until people started asking why I didn't answer. That means they got ringing instead of the out of service area recording. Beware of being fooled like I was. I called Sprint and they explained that we just don't have good coverage in this area because the tower is aimed in a different direction. Next time I'm getting Cingular.

I have the best phone for recieving a signal / pulling RF there is for GSM. Yet I still get 1-2 bars in and around Tuskawilla, and many dropped calls around Oviedo. Whereas in Winter Springs I get echoing, and tunnel effect when I make calls. I am extremely disastisfied with Cingular. I will be switching to Sprint after my contract expires in December.

The last few months have been horrible. Call failed, network busy, poor reception, echo, etc. Spoke to Cingular and they are very aware of the problems. All due to hurricanes. Yeah right. No timetable as to when I can expect any improvement. Call failed... Cingular failed. Time to move on.

This is an AT&T Wireless account that has merged with the Cingular network. AT&T was pretty good for reception, but since the Cingular network was added, it's rare for me not to be able to pick up at least one tower no matter where I go in the whole country. I was able to make calls in rural Arkansas and New Hampshire. GSM reception in the Orlando area is very good except for the occasional dead spot like inside Sam's Club on 436. During the hurricanes last year, we were able to send and receive text messages shortly after the storms. The tower would go out or the system would be busy, but unlike connecting a call, the text message can be transferred in a very short burst and can make it through even a busy network. This worked better than our land line, since our single corded phone fried the day after, and of course we couldn't buy a new one for weeks.

T-Mobile reception is near perfect IN MY HOUSE ! I have Sprint for my work phone and can't get a decent signal even outside. If you live in my area, I recommend T-Mobile to you... ..stay away from Sprint (they are awful).
