Cant understand How AT and T can promote such commercials about bandwidth. I am down Town ATL. Reception is at best sub par. Drop and disconnets all the time. Seems it has got worse in 2012, I can say their customer srvice is very good and they will adjust your bill if you show proof of bad service. If AT and T just really live up to stronger Signals and true 4G in metro Area.. I would stay with them, as of now its a toss up.

I work where the coverage map I have the BEST AT&T coverage. However, in 3 years at this location my phone has no to one bar reception. Verison, T-Mobile, and Sprint used by my co-workers receive exceelent coverage with four plus bars. I can even but my Version card into my laptop and it works great from this location but not AT&T! If you are looking at moving to the Atlanta Metro area, you may consider using a cell carrier other than AT&T.

Reception is fine, however, during the day on weekdays, there are constant connection timeouts and inability to place or receive calls. This is true for most of the entire Downtown Atlanta area.

My office locates on the top floor of this building, got no reception in the office, hall way or next to the window. All other carrier's phones work fine include Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint. ATT refused to admit that they have any dead spot in my area, instead they claimed that it's under the "best coverage" and refused to do anything about it. I was locked by their contract, can't wait to get rid of ATT.

ATT has been a mess in this area since late June. Coverage is all over the map at my house. Even our new microcell antenna at our house works off and on. Dropped calls and terrible audio. Aarrrggghh!

I work in an office building off of Paces Ferry Rd.close to I-285. The reception is never more then 2 bars, and always fluctuates between no bars (Searching) and 2 bars. Calls constantly drop. I have called AT&T and all they can say is "Your reception should be fine there" (ironically the call dropped when I was on the phone with AT&T). Looking at the cell tower maps, it looks like AT&T clusters thier towers rather then spreads them out. Probably why so many people keep having issues. One of my coworkers who is on another network always has 4 or 5 bars (we'll be standing next to each other and my phone shows 1 or 2 or "Searching"). I've been a long time customer of AT&T / Cingular, but I'm beginning to think it's time to change to a carrier that has a reliable network.

Recently moved to Atlanta and I get no reception at all inside or outside of my house. Called AT&T and they told me it was a "moderate" service area. I live in the middle of Atlanta. Horrible customer service. I've had AT&T for almost 10 years and they didn't even try to stop me when I said I was switching to Verizon...

AT&T is horrible! In East Atlanta Village, 2 miles from downtown Atlanta, when on the street, I often get 1 bar of cell service and calls commonly drop. 3G is very spotty- and it often switches back and forth between 3G, Edge, and nothing. After 3 years of putting up with AT&T's poor service and contempt for their customers, I am ending my service with them this week.

The past six months, AT&T has gotten progressively worse. Working from home, I see my bars go from 1 to 2.. unacceptable. switching to Verizon and an iphone.

I am having to use my cell at home for work calls now and it is impossible. Even on our screened porch, dropped calls, calls are broken up, or incoming calls go to voicemail and no record of a call. Beware!

Starting around August, can only talk in three places in my house: outside on the porch and it's blasted hot, or crammed up against a window in my kitchen or sunroom. We're missing work calls, Dr. calls, and calls from the school. AT&T told my spouse, "oh, I see we have a tower out - it's scheduled to be fixed next week." Now it comes out in the media that service could be bad "until the first of the year". With that news, why wouldn't I switch to another carrier?

I cannot believe how bad ATT service is in Atlanta. These people have all the experience to get this fixed. The only conclusion that I can come to is that it's not important to time.

Poor coverage the last 2 months and it keeps getting worse. Every day, 3+ dropped calls and 1 or less bars of reception. This area used to receive 4+ bars for years...

Reception is poor and has gotten worse over the month of August. No 3 / 4 G reception at anytime. Go for 3 or 4 hours without receiving e mails. i've been and ATT customer for 15+ years, its now time for a new company.

Sad to say I work for AT&T and when I get into the office I lose signal or end up on Edge network a lot inside the office. There are times when I get on 285 heading towards 85 North near Ashford-Dunwoody Rd it starts searching for signal and goes to Edge and then back to 3GS.

AT&T is the worst EVER! I live in Chastain Park / Buckhead and can't make or receive consistent calls, browse, etc. IN TOWN ATLANTA! Even worse when I travel. Constantly have to turn off the phone to reset, so that the cell tower even knows that I'm there. No customer service follow-up and calling for assistance typically gets me an attitude for my efforts. Scik of it!! Be forwarned!

I get very poor reception once I get into Tilly Mill area. My sister lives off Briarcliff between Shallowford and Clairmont. Fugadabout it. My husband has Verizon and it works must better throughout Atlanta.

I get zero reception inside buildings with AT&T. If I'm lucky enough to receive a call it will either be dropped or the entire conversation will be broken / choppy. Worst service ever and trying to figure out which company provides best local service

NO or very poor reception in my apt for last two weeks. Lived here for 6 months and never had a problem... had to go outside to call AT&T... and the call dropped! Finally got through... the operator said THREE TOWERS were out in the area... of course they were scheduled to be fixed days ago, but still not up yet. She said give it 48 hours.

AT&T is terrible in East Atlanta. I also hate how bars fluctuate even when I'm standing still. T-Mobile never did that... .

every day on the way home from work my calls drop just north of the toll plaza (1 / 4 mile)

Dead zone at intersection of peachtree st and peachtree memorial dr. I have been complaining for over a month. I must have spent 20 hours on the phone with AT&T. I was talking with AT&T technician yesterday and call went dead. All I heard was my echo. She said she could now pinpoint problem and it would be solved in two days. I have spoken with several other people who said that they always experience this problem when driving through this zone. BUT I LIVE IN THE ZONE!!!!!

Didn't drop calls as much, with AT&T but they need better plans the cost is outrageous!Now seaching for a provider with better plan and a phone that want drop calls so much

i miss a lot of calls, but I think that goes for ATT in general, not necessarily for this area the calls never show up in my "missed calls", phone never rings, but I have callwave, so I get a text message that somebody left a voicemail... when i'm on the phone for more than half an hour the calls get dropped about every 30 minutes (ie 4 times on a 2 hour call) i get a "network is busy" tone when I try to dial sometimes (this goes for the whole Perimeter area (400 and 285)

Live at the bottom of hill. Get little or no reception in my house and / or yard. Visiting family members had good reception with Verizon, not so with Sprint.

Fluctuates between 1 bar and no signal, depending on exactly where you are in the shopping center.

There is a dead zone here around 294 Interstate North Pky.

My iPhone and other phones show No Service most of the time! My friends with Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile have NO issues. I can't understand how AT&T can provide such poor service?

POOR (1 bar and dropped calls) once you enter the neighborhood around Ansley Mall / Morningside.

Mediocre. Both Verizon Wireless and AT&T coverage are weak around our home and Atlanta. I really don't understand why reception is so mediocre in a large city like the Atlanta metro area. Especially since Atlanta is the home of Cingular / AT&T Wireless.

Very poor reception. Even on the roof (18th floor).

Three of us went to college area with AT&T phones. NONE received any bars of service until we left. College employee said Verizon was the only one

AT&T horrible. T-Mobile and Nextel reported OK from visiting PODS and Comcast technicians.

Ever since AT&T bought Cingular Wireless reception, we have dropping communications signals have become very intolerable. Plus I could contact Mr. Clendennins's office for help and get IT! But this AT&T,Congress Created and broke up, is like the old one poor service and high charges that was the performance of the old one.It is amazing how little the internet communication cost with Computer Industry Industry operation but once the Telephony lobbyist with their gaurantee for a minimum profit our telephone and internet service goes to crap!

Great reception except in elevators of mid rise condo.

Dead spot on Briarcliff Rd between Clairmont and N Shallowford. I get good signal in most places in town, but most of my dropped calls occur in this corridor.

Total dead zone for Cingular in and around Lakeside High School. It won't work at all inside the building and no bars in the parking lot either. Go about 1 / 2 mile up the road and there is full signal, so it's a localized problem.

I have a Sprint(worst), tmobile(iffy), and Verizon. Non of which can hold a call in my loft except the Cingular BlackJack.

My Cingular reception at home on Durand Dr.is 1 bar. I have recently gotten the laptop PC card to use G3 Broadband network and that signal is just as weak here. Cingular, having such a huge presence in Atlanta, has no excuse for such bad reception in the middle of a highly populated area, right next to a major University. It's amazing that I can get better Cingular reception at my cabin on the coast of rural Maine than I do in Atlanta.

I recently changed to Sprint which is consistantly better than cingular. I was A 5year Cingular customer but I'm happy I moved.

I am driving West toward Piedmont and as soon as I leave the neighborhood and just prior to reaching the I-85 HOV Access Road, the signal ALWAYS drops!

Intermittant (and usually no) reception in GCB or Aderhold. Am lucky to find coverage with in 100 feet of school.

Lots of dropped calls and occasional static connections where you can barely hear the other person. Sometimes calls are ended just because my phone no longer wants me to talk to someone. I recieve text messages a day after they were sent. It is better than T-Mobile and Sprint for where I live. T-Mobile was laughable at home and work, the two most needed usage areas, as it simply didn't work unless I was outside. Sprint worked at home but not work. I am going to try Verizon.

I have complained to AT&T and now Cingular for well over two years and all they do is LAUGH.. Another site is West Wesley between Peachtree and Northside, NO reception at all since day one.

No recpection indoors, I have to walk about 100 yards up the street to get reception.

I just moved back to Atlanta after 5 years in Athens, Ga., only to find I have practically no service in my apartment or anywhere near it. At night it jumps to four bars at times, but that is when reception is almost worse. Can't make a call. Driving through the Little 5 Points area, service still stinks. Not happy having to get a land line too.

Call DROPPED while their traffic stop was stopping us on Glenridge to let their employees out. UNBELIEVABLE!

Happy with ATT TDMA, but change to ATT digital technolgoy then Cingular; no reception in my home and frequent dropped calls on Chamblee Tucker by Peachtree Dekalb and Chamblee Marta station. Numerous calls to customer service. Purchased new phones, down loaded updates. I would not recommend Cingular to my worst enemy.

Cingular's service seems to be getting worse and worse. Calls dropped everywhere. I have sat in my car without moving looking at a cell tower and the signal fades in and out. Calls are dropped all the time driving around intown and downtown atlanta. I think GSM is just one big scam. My service was better several years ago with analog. I just want my phone to work, I don't care about internet and all the features, I just want to make and receive calls, and it's just getting worse. I'm looking at other providers, I don't trust Cingular. AT&T was just as bad, and now they're one company.

My Cingular GSM phone works perfect in this area.. I never drop calls and always have signal

I can be driving on Briarcliff Rd. with a full signal, then the next minute, if there are trees, bushes, or anything like that, the call gets dropped... not once, but 3 times. I have regretted ever going to Cingular a year ago and as of next week, I am going back to Verizon.

i can see the Cingular home office from my apt. and STILL get only 2 bars on a good day. Ive gotten forced into another contract WITHOUT my signature or authorization, have returned over 50 phones due to poor reception and dropped calls, and have spent thousands in false overages. Cingular is BY FAR the WORST cell phone company I have ever had the misfortune of using. I would guess 2 soup cans and some string would have better reception and service.

I just got a brand new Cingular phone and i'm getting dropped calls and losign all reception in my midtown home. I thought I was having problems with the old AT&T digital, but this is worse. my calls are also staticky and the volume is very low even when I have it turned up all the way. I'm gonna try and switch as soon as I can. wha't the point of having a cell phone if it doesn's get good reception. my friend said that she heard every other word from our phone call at home in midtown, ansley area.

Bad Reception in apartment (Spring Creek Apts), bad reception in clubs (1 to 2 bars), great reception at work. Too bad that I have a side business (mortgage company that I have call clients after work at home with little or no reception) and actually use my phone to contact people with... As soon as I can, I am switching to Verizon. Cingular, turn up the juice on the tower, keeping them at low wattage means that more people have less coverage where they might actually need it. Can you hear me now???

Cingular has great reception throughout most parts of Atlanta, but In Decatur near E. Ponce de Leon I get only 1 bar inside of buildings.

Reception is good in downtown Atlanta but Cingular customer service is terrible. Cingular is great as long as you don't need to actually talk to them.

Upgrading to GSM on Cingular was a big mistake. I live one block from Bellsouth / Cingular world headquarters, and can't make a call from inside my home anymore. My wife's CDMA phone works fine here.

Cell phone signals are not available on any carrier. This appears to be a complete "dead zone" while plenty of signal strength is available just a few blocks away.
