Verizon stated this is a limited marginal coverage are and signal is weak. Also, it will get weaker as there becomes more traffic. Suggested that I! BUY some extender to put in my house! NO! I will just drop them and there better not be a penalty. I've been with them for 4 years and NOW have a problem. I think they've gone over there heads in selling these smart phones! I'm sure they are taking up more signal space than expected or they just don't care! As long as they can make more money off of these gadget phones. Sucks!

I have had Verizon for years and have had very few problems with coverage. Even when traveling, I have always had a signal with Verizon when my T Mobile work phone got no reception. I've lived in Kirkwood, Midtown, Brookhaven and Lawrenceville and had only one small area of lost signal throughout the years. I've always had good reception in my home and apartments. I just wish their plans were less expensive.

Verizon was great for the past 10 years. Since Feb. 2011, our family has less than 20% connections in house and on our street. Phones do get reception out of 30329 / Emory area. Contacted Verizon many times to confirm touble reports. They will not replace or repair the cell tower for this area. Now we have to find another company for better service. Being long time customers, we are very disappointed!

Voice calls are good. Usually get 3 bars anywhere in the house, with good quality and no dropped calls. EVDO is flaky - despite showing 2 EVDO bars (the A990 shows both 1x and EVDO strength), data sessions will sometimes be on (sl-oow) 1x. Overall, quite happy with Verizon performance throughout Atlanta.

I get great reception in my apartment and around the area. All my friends that Verizon also have good reception. Never a dropped call. I will say when I lived in Decatur about once every 5 months I would not be able to make calls or recieve calls at night. It was strange. Anyways I like verizon. They offer good service.

I have had no problems with Verizon Wireless. Im ROAMING right now because I moved here from New York and I still have PERFECT service. On occasion I will connect a call and people will say they cant hear me but as soon as I redial it comes clear. Verizon has had the best service for me all over the place including outside the country, only problems I have ever had are with phones that have broke.

I get no more than one or two bars where T-Mobile gave me three and four. Verizon says I'm within 1.5 miles of a tower and say my equipment is faulty yet my wife has a Motorola e815 and gets the same poor reception here and up where she works in Norcross above the Perimeter. Verizon ran a trouble ticket then failed to call back to report. When I called they were incredibly defensive / aggressive and blaming the phone, but not offering to fix it even though we're halfway through a two year contract. Verizon is the WORST wireless company I've ever dealt with customer-service wise apart from the connection problems which exist on some level with all companies. I'll never use them again and may pay the $175 to dump them.

Nearly the entire length of Briarcliff Rd.between North Druid Hills Rd.and Northlake Mall is extremely weak. Signal strength fluctuates between 1-bar and 'No Service'. Verizon Wireless performed a signal test along this stretch of Briarcliff in November 2005 and confirmed the signal is poor, but they said they had no plans to upgrade signal towers in this area.

VERIZON IS GREAT! I had ATT, it was bad and switched to Cingular. Cingular got worse and worse and worse. Dropped calls non-stop everywhere. Bad service everywhere. Dr.2 feet and better, drive 2 feet and worse. I just switched to Verizon after seeing Consumer Reports article about surveys saying that Verizon had best reception in Atlanta, with least number of dropped calls. In app. 2 months with Verizon GREAT RECEPTION. I've only had one dropped call total. With Cingular I got several dropped calls a day. Verizons reeptioin is great indoors and out. 30306 works everywhere. I love Verizon so far.

I've called Verizon several times about this problem. They point out that there are 3 towers within a half mile and suspect the phone. The roaming capabilities are updated regularly and software has been updated by a store technician. It get perfect reception elseware. Around where Ponce de Leon turns to Scott, coverage is dropped altogether.

I am with Verizon and they are the only company that gets reception at my apartment. My friends with Sprint PCS and Cingular have to go out and stand in the road to use their phones. Every night, there are a bunch of people (other residents) standing out in the parking lot using their cell-phones when I get home, it is too funny. I have had Verizon service for 10 years now, they used to be Airtouch back then, and I have never had reception problems.

Verizon's coverage is BY FAR the best in the Atlanta area. I have been with ATT (TDMA) and Cingular (TDMA) previously. The real advantage is the technology. Verizon's CDMA 1x technology (also used by Sprint) is inherently superior to GSM for several reasons: 1. The range is much longer (CDMA signals can reach 60 miles+ while GSM begins to lose effectiveness around 20 miles or so), 2. CDMA allows much higher network volume (so calls rarely get dropped), and 3. The transition of the signal from cell tower to cell tower is handled more efficiently in CDMA, thereby virtually eliminating dropped calls. FYI, Cingular, based here in Atlanta, continues to have MAJOR problems with GSM implementation. Be warned!
