I had reception trouble at this location with both AT&T (TDMA) and Sprint, but have had very good success here (as well as in other cities) with Verizon. It even works in my basement.

I get absolutely NO reception in my home. I called T-Mobile and they told me I'm in an area with good reception outdoors and not so good reception indoors. Sorry, but I need to be able to use my phone indoors too. I'm sending my phone back to T-Mobile.

No service in my house but OK once you get down the road a little. Thought it might be theh phone but I tried a Nokia 3588 on loan and it did no better. My friend's T-Mobile works fine.

Upgrading to GSM on Cingular was a big mistake. I live one block from Bellsouth / Cingular world headquarters, and can't make a call from inside my home anymore. My wife's CDMA phone works fine here.

For at least 6 blocks to the west and south of this intersection in the Grant Park neigborhood of Atlanta, you get no service with T-Mobile (or any GSM service provider, for that matter). You would think that being less than one mile from downtown, I-20, Turner Field, and the zoo, you would get service here, but you don't.

No problems with signal at all, much better than some people constantly complain about. No carrier is perfect, but AT&T is pretty good for me.

Verizon's coverage is BY FAR the best in the Atlanta area. I have been with ATT (TDMA) and Cingular (TDMA) previously. The real advantage is the technology. Verizon's CDMA 1x technology (also used by Sprint) is inherently superior to GSM for several reasons: 1. The range is much longer (CDMA signals can reach 60 miles+ while GSM begins to lose effectiveness around 20 miles or so), 2. CDMA allows much higher network volume (so calls rarely get dropped), and 3. The transition of the signal from cell tower to cell tower is handled more efficiently in CDMA, thereby virtually eliminating dropped calls. FYI, Cingular, based here in Atlanta, continues to have MAJOR problems with GSM implementation. Be warned!

Cell phone signals are not available on any carrier. This appears to be a complete "dead zone" while plenty of signal strength is available just a few blocks away.

I drive up from Exit 6 on GA 400 to Lumpkin County for work and usually drop calls driving through Alpharetta, Forsyth County, and again in Dawson County. Poor weather makes for worse reception. I thought the problem was my phone, but a Samsung phone did no better.

Poor or non-existent signal in valleys within Morningside and Virginia Highlands neighborhoods with T-Mobile. No service inside my house. I also tried a loaner from Cingular and found dead spots on different streets of the same area but it worked well inside my house.

GSM T-mobile does not work inside buildings where my TDMA Cingular (Nokia 516x) phone did work. True in both downtown Atlanta building and small building in Buford.

The coverage throughout my neighborhood is fine , but when I get to my House I get one bar or two bars at best. Not sure if its the phone (nokia 3390 w/internal ant. plus booster) or the service provider (T-Mobile). My brother has a Nokia w/ Cingular and he usually gets full bars......hmmm. Im in the market for a new phone but because of this Im not sure which provider to use. T-Mobile has the phone I want (samsung E715), but I might have to go with Cingular and get the Moto V400.

Coverage with the Sidekick is really crappy in Atlanta. I have lots of missed calls, as well as many locations (both inside and out) where others have reception and I have none. This is the case even when the others have T-Mobile, so I think this is a Sidekick specific issue. Doesn't make it any less annoying though!
