I get no more than one or two bars where T-Mobile gave me three and four. Verizon says I'm within 1.5 miles of a tower and say my equipment is faulty yet my wife has a Motorola e815 and gets the same poor reception here and up where she works in Norcross above the Perimeter. Verizon ran a trouble ticket then failed to call back to report. When I called they were incredibly defensive / aggressive and blaming the phone, but not offering to fix it even though we're halfway through a two year contract. Verizon is the WORST wireless company I've ever dealt with customer-service wise apart from the connection problems which exist on some level with all companies. I'll never use them again and may pay the $175 to dump them.
No reception inside building. Outside is ok. There are some no signal points in dunwoody but according to T-Mobile the coverage is perfect in my area. they suspect somebody is using some high frequency device which is blocking their signal! I hope nobody has nuclear lab in the building!
In Lithonia I've had several dropped called and calls that I never recieve that go straight to voicemail. And cell phone goes in and out of service. Coverage is better in the downtown Atlanta area all my calls are delivered.
My Cingular reception at home on Durand Dr.is 1 bar. I have recently gotten the laptop PC card to use G3 Broadband network and that signal is just as weak here. Cingular, having such a huge presence in Atlanta, has no excuse for such bad reception in the middle of a highly populated area, right next to a major University. It's amazing that I can get better Cingular reception at my cabin on the coast of rural Maine than I do in Atlanta.
A year ago reception was very spotty and calls would routinely drop in the same spots along E. Rock Springs Road / Morningside Drive. A new tower must have been installed a few months ago as service had been excellent in this entire area. Beginning about a month ago, service is spotty again and calls almost drop in those same problem areas. Hopefully T-Mobile will find the tower that is now having problems. T-Mobile customer service is incredible... you never sit on hold waiting for a CSR.
