Have traded phones twice, called numerous times. Probably drop 6 to 10 calls a day. Alltel says they have me on a priority status whatever that means. I assume now its the merger that made the service lousy, I assumed originally that my new phone was bad as my old phone seemed fine. After reading blogs I'm linking the poor service with the merger. The voicemail had issues but that has gotten better.

Have to go outside to use my phone. If in the house calls drop over and over.

I have to stand outside to talk on my cell phone. They advertise that they have the fewest dropped calls--it is either because NO calls are being made or all the dropped calls in the nation are in Brunswick GA!

Thank god my contract is up in a couple of months. There is nothing like standing in the middle of the street to talk. NO signal, zilch. Just moved and I am still in town, but I have no coverage. There has to be a law about not getting service that you pay for!

To keep from dropping calls inside I have to either use bluetooth (keeping the phone away from my body, which kills the signal) or go outside. I recommend bluetooth, it sux going outside, there are frogs out there.

to add to comment. there is per this web site a Cingular tower less than 1 / 4 mile from my home.

stuck in contract for 2 years. no reception at home, no reception in may areas in town, then start driving around area. great reception in florida. why can't georgia be fixed.

I have to walk to the street to even find 1 bar, if this is what you call raising the bar then keep your stinking bars.

Nextel has the best coverage in Brunswick. By far the best cell company around. The store that is in Brunswick will try their best to do anything they can for their customers. GREAT JOB NEXTEL!

Nextel has been in Brunswick, GA for about a year and a half. Since the G-8 Summit the service has only been getting better.

Very good reception around town but on the island it can drop out as you head north past Sea Palms...

The service and the reception of this phone is terrible! I wouldnt recommend the provider or this phone to anybody.

Have coverage just about anywhere I travel, Ohio, Florida, Georgia. The only time I ever lose reception is for about ten miles in the back roads of South Carolina.

Seamless coverage from Key West to Brunswick, GA. with exception of crossing state line (some kind of electronic "Iron Curtain"). Was a loyal Alltel fan for the number of rural towers but find Verizon's "extended network" outperforms Alltel in the woods too! P.S. Tried the Nextel service... gave it up as soon as I could. 10 minutes travel away from the interstate is about all you get.

Excellent service with Verizon prepay all along 17N from milepost 3 to milepost 19 late at nite and early in the AM [works nites].
