Verizon sold a couple of towers in the area last year and in house service was at 0 or 1 bar on my Palm w700. my husband had no problems on his Verizon Motorola e815 4 bars in the house. After 15+ years with them... bye bye. I need a smartphone that works at home! I switched us to ATT after a friends Motorola q9h was getting great reception here in the house. I replaced my palm with the BB Curve (it was cute) and got only 2 bars in the house. 3g level 4 bars on Old Covington between salem and alcovy. My house is in a valley - 2 bars outside; 1 or 2 inside. I traded the Curve for a Motorola Q9h during the 'trade in period' and have and have great results with 4 bars inside the house. We also use a Samsung BJ II (2-3 bars) and older model Motorola V365 (3-4 bars consistently). Both Motorolas get the best reception! One is a small brick and the other is a small brick - but they work! it's the brand of the phone and the location of the towers.

I have had Cingular service for about 1 year and when I dial a number from home all the bars disappear and the call doesn't go through. I would like to know if it is the phone or if Cingular just doesn't cover my area well

The most glaring problem with Sprint / Nextel Hybrid phones is that the phone side does NOT have access to 800mhz roaming. So you are limited to ONLY 1.8Ghz Sprint PCS phone service which is pretty much limited to major urban areas, and is in many cases around the Atlanta area has worse coverage the Nextel itself. The hybrid phones have MUCH less coverage than a normal Sprint plan with a 800 / 1.8 phone. Nextel Walkie Talkie is excellent but the phone coverage desperately needs to be addressed. The service works fine in the Conyers area and towards Atlanta, but dies once you get very far off the interstate.

Once you get off of the interstate, reception is poor. I get very poor reception inside my home.

Reception outside the house is okay. Generally, we have 3 bars all around Conyers major roadways like hwy 20 and 138. But inside the house is another sad story. Many dropped calls, delayed messages - yuck! Don't do it if you want to be able to use the phone in the house. As of May, 2012, I'm trying T-Mobile because of their tower coverage in this area. My husband has an i-phone with Verizon for work and it works well. Never a dropped call but too darn expensive. Even my son's tracfone has better inhouse reception than sprint.

Basically this phone is an alarm clock. Once you leave Rockdale county you might get a signal. I can't wait to drop my T-Mobile service, if you can call it that.

I have a great phone with all types of cool functions. only problem is when I am at home I can hardly use those functions. I get poor reception. going on the internet is painfully slow. I do not know people call me sometimes until I get a voicemail. text come in slow or in the middle of the night. Can not get on Facebook because service drops before it can log on. Its becoming very frustrating. Help... more towers here please!
