Just could not use the phone unless it was on a table while I was using my ear piece. Once the phone moved, the call was shut off. Beware!

I live on the south side of Jonesboro, GA in the city limits and I have great reception. My mobile phone is my sole phone (no voice land line - only DSL). I have 5 of 5 outdoors and 3 to 4 of 5 bars indoors. Most of the poor reviews I have seen on this site are probably attributable to poor quality cellular phones. And price of the phone many times has little to do with the quality of the design. I am an EE and know there are significant differences from brand to brand and even model to model.

Used to get no reception. Missed many calls and phone would not register missing them nor record voice mail for callers. Called Cingular many times and told basically, "too bad." Finally got a customer rep that knew what she was doing. She told me my phone service was not tied to some type of thing called a primary number. she reprogrammed it in their computer and have had GREAT service since. Try asking Cingular rep if your phone and service is tied to a primary number in their computer. It's made a world of difference. My out of state family and friends no longer have to call on my home phone to tell me that my cell is not working!

Something is wrong here. I have o bars like all the time. sometimes outside the home I have one or two bars. I contacted my carrier and they told me their is nothing they can do for me. I just got my cell phone and I cant use it period. I wanted this phone in replace of my home phone and now I cant use it. what do I do? I dont travel much outside of jonesboro and their is o reception here. when I go to morrow or fayetteville I have a little reception but not much. I hope Cingular sees this message and starts doing something about us here in jonesboro, we need more towers please. were not paying for service for nothing. Thanks Mobledia for letting me input my thoughts and maybe with many requests something will be done for us here in Jonesboro not getting much reception.

I should have stayed with Verizon Wireless... .The only reason I ditched Verizon Wireless is because I dropped and broke my phone and didnt have insurace to cover it, and it was to expensive to replace, so I left and went to T moble, and I was dropping calls left and right. Everywhere I go I was dropping calls so they sent me a replacement, and the replacement didnt help the reception either... As soon as my contract was over I went to Cingular wireless and Cingular has the worst reception ever, I cannot make calls anywhere I go from the moment I recieved the phone... I wish I could go back to Verizon Wireless, but I owe them money for breach of contract so I cant... ... Plus I have a 2 year contract with Cingular and I dont want to owe 2 companies money. Its worthless paying for a phone you can't use... .My best friend has Sprint and he sais he drops calls too... If you live in Jonesboro the only hope for you is to go to Verizon wireless. At that time I thought all cell phone companies were about the same as far as signals go, but now I know after leaving Verizon Wireless that they have alot more towers then the other cell phone companies... and now I have to pay for that, I do have wireless insurance now but I should have back then because I could talk all day long and never drop a call with Verizon wireless... .so do other people I know that live in my area... .i called Cingular wireless and told them my problem and they told me straight out that their is not many strong towers in my area... I live on Flint River Rd. and I have 0 bars in my own home, 1 or 2 outside my home... oh also let me warn you about Cingular wireless if you are a couple days late on your bill they will cut your phone off and charge you to turn your phone back on... No other cell phone company in the whole world cuts your phone off for being 3 days late, I couldn't believe it. I have been with them for almost a year and never been late before. when I was with t moble and Verizon that did not happen ever, I cant wait until my 2 year contract is over so I can switch... ... But I recomend Verizon wireless because they have the best reception anywhere

My reception is very good in Riverdale and great in Fayetteville. Unfortunately, I live smack in the middle, in Jonesboro where reception is horrible. I have no bars in my home and maybe 1 or 2 outside. My calls are dropped and sometimes I get calls and the phone doesn't even ring! Ridiculous!
