I live in Jones County and travel to Jeffersonville, Ga. almost everyday. I have almost no reception once leaving the Macon area. My business depends on cell and texting service so this is very frustrating. My wife bought me the IPhone for Christmas or I would terminate my service with AT&T and immediately go to Verizon. Might do it anyway!

Always showing missed calls when at home or inside of any building. I can have the phone in my hand and it will go to voice mail. AT&T is terrible. I have a 3 year old LG work phone with Verizon that never misses a call, even traveling to places like Reynolds, Eatonton and beyond. So I am looking into changing from ATT to Verixzon even before my contract is up.

Granted, the location specified is a creek bottom, but 3 other Verizon customers had 4 and 5 bar signals while my AT&T had "no service". This is not uncommon at all. Inside metal buildings, such as Walmart or Home Depot, where my wife's Verizon phone has 5 bars, I have 1 or no service. AT&T, you need to hire that guy from the Verizon commercial...

Unfortunately this is the 2nd apartment location that I'm experiencing terrible reception (Emeryville, CA and Macon, GA). Zero to 1 bar during non-peak times. It's 2008 when anything can happen except getting consistently good cell phone service.

I cycle on country roads within a 50 mile radius of NW Macon and can count on Verizon reception everywhere, which is why I chose it.

T-Mobile really needs to get a cell tower around I-475, I cannot get a signal at home. Outside of this problem, I love my service and my phone.

Paid more than $700 last month because almost all calls were doping and had to resort to roaming when I had to make important calls. I had been with Cingular for more than 7 years before coming to sprint. I never experienced the horrible service and network... Please go some other place and live longer

Nextel has no service unless you in downtown Gray. They have been promising for years to improve but no new towers in our area for years.(and none on the books coming)

There seems to be a completely dead zone through this area on Northside Drive. Reception is fine before and after the low point in the road by the school and intersection.

I recently joined Verizon Wireless and bought a Motorola A930 phone. The phone is quite cute but the reception sucks! My first few calls dropped within 40 seconds and nearly every caller stated they could not here me as I heard them speaking louder and louder. No reception on a main road, inside my car nor within my home. When I called verizon, the first representative was unhelpful and kept saying she was transferring me to retention. The next person could figure out the problem either and recommended another phone. By this time, I was ready to cancel since I had spent nearly 3 hours with different reprs but hadn't spent 20 minutes on all of my incoming and outgoing calls during the week and a half I had the service.

Cell reception has improved slightly over the last few months, but still ranks as unacceptable for my business purposes. Almost always lose a call within 20 minutes anywhere in Macon or Warner Robins city limits. Rural travel in any direction causes my phone to become an expensive paperweight. Completely lose signal on Riverside Dr.when headed north after passing intersection at Bass Road, and can't get it back until arriving in Jackson or Monticello, only to lose it again very rapidly. Same with traveling to Forsyth... lose signal until arriving near city limits. Completely lose signal when heading to Irwinton. No signal on Golden Isles Hwy. until entering McRae, only to lose it again. Traveling to Thomaston... you guessed it, no reception. Good reception when traveling I-75, but you can bet that you will lose a call within 20 minutes almost every time... no exaggeration. Spotty reception on I-20. Good reception on I-85, but expect to lose your call within 20 minutes. Bottom line... usually good for making short successful calls on the interstates; otherwise, crank up the tunes and enjoy the cows. Cheers.

Drops call after 10 minutes at the house, consistently. My son has a V188 which performs better, so the phone may be the issue. Recpetion around Macon overall is better - spottier when you go away from I75 though.

In my apartment, the reception was iffy, but I could usually get a signal. If not, all I had to do was step out on the porch and I got several bars. Around town the service worked alright, though a few dead spots do exist. Once I got out of town in any direction other than north, service was hit or miss, though that is not too surprising since much of the area is very rural. Other people I know who live around here seem to like Cingular ok, but those who have Verizon love it, so it would be worth shopping around.

Many dropped calls. Usually I have to go outside my house to get more bars and a better signal. I am lucky to get 2 bars. Cingular claims that there map shows coverage to be excellent in my area. My experience would indicate otherwise.
