Generally good reception in Kihei and most of Maui. This phone model is considerably more sensitive than other phones we've used. We recently surveyed our friends using the other cell phone carriers on Maui and decided to stay with Cingular.
Good reception in / around Wailea and Makena on south Maui, as well as in most areas of Kihei proper. Poor reception on south coast in Kaupo area, areas of Hana and areas on Haleakala are spotty at best. Have had reasonable customer service and only one billing issue which was resolved satisfactorily.
This phone only works as good as the signal comes in. Don't think its the phone and replaceing it with another phone under warranty get out of the contract or you will stuck with 2 yr contract like me. I'am on the 4th phone and still getting troubles like drop calls and can you hear me and the other person can't hear you sound like the other guys. I had other brands and thinking about the extra time I could save but i'am sorry for changeing. I should stick to Nextel or Verizon they had better coverage.
I get good reception in Kihei on the Island of Maui. I havn't had any trouble with lost calls in this area. Sprint is decent, but their customer service leaves a little to be desired. They might be getting better or worse. It's hard to tell at times. Sprint has good reception on most of Maui, except for out in Haiku it gets a little shakey and no reception in Hana.
