	Receiving and making calls on my Nextel phone was really good. The Direct Connect function worked terrific. Spoke with my son in Connecticut via Direct Connect. It was as if he was in Hi. Same with my daughter in Las Vegas. Overall, the Nextel phone worked better than in my home in Florida.

	I am from Canada. Verizon used to be the carrier for Rogers BC. Now they use Cingular and NO ONE has been able to receive any calls on their Canadian cell phones on Maui. It is impossible to raise Cingular in person.

	Very intermittent service. Sometimes a good signal, mostly no service at all. Very annoying.

	Terrible reception with Verizon Wireless in Kahana, HI. Zip code 96761. Two different T-mibile phones inside my house had 5 bars while I had none and couldn't rec/make calls. Talked to Verizon late December 2004 said it is because in Kapalua and Honokawai there are cells, but they are both around 2.5 miles away from Kahana. They said there are plans to upgrade the area soon, but who knows. I will probably have to cancel VZW service because of this. VZW works great everywhere else. Even in elevators and underground parking garages in HNL. I am so bummed that I am in a dead zone. I have to walk outside, across the street almost to the ocean to get decent reception. Up the street, less than a block away I get 5 bars, near Roy's Kahana. Dude...
