Have had US Cellular for years. Travel a lot and still able to get good reception in Key West. Not very good in the Bluffs on the Mississippi.

I see some of these reviews are rather old, but it is now 10 / 6 / 10 and the reception and phones are really nice from sprint. I got a great calling plan with my husband... we pay 129.99 for unlimited EVERYTHING! This means voice, text, web, etc. And night and weekends start at 7! And I live in the country in the middle of NOWHERE! I really couldn't be happier with Sprint. Cheap and Good service. I used to have Verizon and they charge a fortune... .their service was alright but I paid the same as I do for Sprint when I didnt even have internet. Let's go Sprint!

Really no areas I've found with bad reception in Cedar Falls / Waterloo. I can even make calls from my basement in NW Cedar Falls and it's clear as a bell. If you drive between CF and Cedar Rapids or Dubuque there are a number of dead spots.

I moved to Cedar Falls from Indiana, where ATT is reliable and reputable. I read and heard so many negative things about ATT coverage here in Iowa but during numerous trips to Iowa, including lengthy stays in the Des Moines area, I have NEVER had signal coverage problems, dating back to 2005. So when I moved to Iowa and wanted an updated phone I knew I took a chance with ATT / Motorola's Tundra, but I have NO problems with the phone or the signal. As a physician who covers c / sections, I MUST have reliable service, and I am comfortable with this combination. I suspect most ATT complaints have a lot to do with 3G and with the iPhone in particular.

I get great service with US Cellular in Waterloo and Cedar Falls. I have had only a few dropped calls over the years. I wish they had some "cooler" phones though. I am switching to Verizon to try them out and get a "cooler" phone.

In Waterloo / Cedar Falls, good reception in both cities. Trouble areas include northern areas of North Cedar near Lone tree road. My Blackberry tends to get better signal in weak areas than the Motorola i730.

Voice reception is great however many people when in the area experience delayed text messages. I have experienced this with several models of phones and Verizon says they are aware of the situation. This has been the case for 6 years. Aware of the situation does translate to it being fixed apparently...

I have only been with iWireless for a couple of days and I have really tested it. I was previously with US Cellular last week and have something to compare it to. From my neighborhood in the house / outside my speed is around 100kbps. Hudson Rd area around 400kbps and between 600-800kbps in the CF Industrial park consistently. I am a bit disappointed, US Cellular at least has maps that are true to their coverage and possibly much better service. Other areas are just difficult to get a connection with iwireless... .. iwireless Unlimited plan = so / so speeds USCC similar plan in cost = 5gb limit and I could always connect in-town or out of town. Good Luck.

North Cedar / Lone Tree To Waverly, Cedar Falls, IA 50613 Fri Feb 19, 2010

Driving from N Cedar to my job in Waverly I get incredibly spotty coverage, if there are ANY clouds, I cannot make or receive calls. Rainy and Snowy or cold weather and nothing. Last year I had my car overheat on one very cold night at 4am coming home from work and was stuck because I could not call out, not even 911. Often I cannot even get a signal in my house off Center street. Partially this is the crappy phone but it is also ATT as my wife has spotty coverage with a better phone, but better coverage than I do. This can be seriously dangerous with Iowa winters and getting stuck. Cannot recommend and I am switching next month when contract is up. ( there are also no ATT service stations here so you have to go to CR to speak to a real person)
