Reception is always good. 4g has worked intermittently recently. I used to have US Cellular, which worked very well, and I am very happy with Sprint and my Evo 3d.

I love Sprint! I've had no problems with them and I have been given excellent customer service (which a lot of people seem to say otherwise, but perhaps they are being bad customers by not controlling their tempers? Just a thought... can't say whether that is true or not)... Anyways... In Des Moines I have only two troublesome spots: The first being on the first floor of the hotel I work at (but on the other three floors I get perfect signal!) and whenever I'm in the Jordan Creek Town Center area... texts and calls incoming and outgoing are fine, but when I access data, it's as if it just crawls slower than 2G speeds! The Sprint authroized retailer employee in JCTC is aware of this, but nothing has been improved. But to be fair, I was at Jordan Creek today and the speeds were moving along rather fine (Foursquare was working at tip-top whereas most of the time at JCTC it barely works... ) Other than that, I have EXCELLENT coverage with Sprint! I would rather have Sprint than Verizon or US Cellular, but I have to say when I had AT&T (Cingular; January 2006-December 2009), it worked perfectly in Des Moines, no matter where I went! But I switched to Sprint because my work location has Sprint (2G only, unfortunately) but not AT&T (roaming partner GSM coverage).

Phone is great, but the NETWORK crackles and varies, no matter what, usually one bar... despite being claimed a perfect zone by the network coverage map. Avoid Sprint network here. Fie on them, Fie I say!

Virtually no reception, despite a positive deep green on the reception map... the network is Sprint. Avoid. The phone works great, and where coverage is good, the phone performance is excellent. It is the network that should be avoided. Fie on them, Fie! Fie!

I live near a Sprint tower. Not right next store, but I can see the tower outside my window quite easily... . I barely get reception. To be fair, I've never had a dropped call. One or two bars at most is pretty typical. Even around town. Sometimes in the mornings, my phone won't connect with the towers and I cannot make calls.

On Sprint's coverage map, this location is covered. But approach anywhere near the area, and you will learn the truth... Upon contacting Sprint, they state that this is a "coverage gap" location, but they fail to mention this on their own coverage map.

Very poor reception past Army Post Road. Various models of phone yield similar results.
