"More bars in more places" - not so much. No signal in "best" coverage area. I realize the coverage map is just an estimation, but it couldn't more incorrect. It's like me saying the sky is orange, and then following that with a disclaimer that my observation of the sky was just an estimation.

I switched from Verizon and obviously AT&T has not met my expectations. Real bad reception, lot of static and dropped calls right in front of the tower. THAT IS CALLED SERVICE. Secondly, for everyone who is planning to switch to AT&T for a 3G phone, make sure YOU DO NOT BUY AND / OR SWITCH. Verizon is far better with their EVDO then waiting for AT&T to put in 3G in Des Moines. AT&T was planning to install the 3G network here in Des Moines before the end of October but nothing yet. They keep on pushing the dates trying to buy as many customers with their promises. I am not at all satisfied with either the service and / or the customer satisfaction crap with AT&T

Coverage map shows we are in "Best" converage, but that isn't the case. Our entire townhome association is a dead zone for AT&T (0 to 1 bar). Travel a block East and it has decent service (3 bars). Water tower just went up in our area. Hoping they throw some cell repeater / towers on there.

We are getting very little reception in the outer parts of Polk City. They have a major housing project going there and we are getting no reception in this new area.

I have had no problems with Cingular coverage in the West Des Moines area.

I get dropped calls anywhere it has moderate coverage on the Cingular coverage map. I think as I travel and cross from one tower to the next, my phone can't find the next tower. I purchased an external antenna from Radio shack and get 5 bars all the time now right up until the network drops me. I'm looking at other networks at the moment.

Don't know what the hype about T-Mobile is. I had T-Mobile at one time now I have Cingular. Cingular vs. T-Mobile IOWA: "IN MY OPINION" Cingular has better coverage in Des Moines, I was at Valley West Mall then went to Jordan Creek Mall, Cingular had full service the whole time, T-Mobile didn't have service at Jordan Creek Mall and it wasn't much better at Valley West Mall. Have been to most areas covered on maps and I feel Cingular provides a stronger coverage.

Dropped calls constantly with Sprint in my home. The new Evo is better than my old LG Musiq phone I had, but still get cut outs and dropped calls. It doesn't appear there is any Sprint towers near my neighborhood in southern West Des Moines.

T-Mobile is ok... Absolutely no reception in Perry. It loses reception in the lower level of valley west mall (and that's where they are located!) They also focus all of their promotions and specials to new customers only. Once you are an existing customer, good luck you are on your own! Overall, only ok... Its cheaper than Cingular and Verizon so I guess you pay for what you get.

If you work at WFHM in West Des Moines, then don't plan on getting a hold of anyone from your US Cellular phone at the campus. It just doesn't work. The phone works everywhere else.

Travel the Us and have had best Luck with my Us Cellular Phones and service.

I have never lost service in the 6 years I have had service with USCC.

The phone reception is in and out EVERY time I make a call from my townhome. I am so tired of people saying on the other line... .are you there, are you there... ... I can't hear you... . your breaking up... This makes it impossible to carry on a conversation with anyone from your mother to your dentist. I pay enough money for the plan and refuse to buy an antena for my townhome. Toodles Verizon... . my contract is up and so are you. I will say that the best reception that I have had in Iowa was with US cellular.

Signal varies. Sometimes its full strength... while other times I drop the call with Verizon three times while trying to get them to fix a problem (that was unrelated to signal).

Reception is pretty good could be better.
