Decent reception in town, little or no reception toward the outskirts, most notably on Federal Way. Horrible customer service, lots of nasty hidden fees, have had many complaints from people of an echo on my end of the line, lots of dropped calls. I've been with Cricket for two years and am enthusiastically switching to ANY other service at the end of this month! The only and I repeat ONLY thing they have going for them is no contracts or credit checks.

Ever since SPRINT took over the reception has become shoddy and I can not even use my phone until I am 2 blocks away from home, I feel sorry for anyone on a Sprint network their service is very poor and their customer service is non existant... ..what to the customer is always right... . anyway I am looking for new service since I no longer have service when I need it the most (in my home.)

I have had many problems with Nextel in the past, but upgraded to the Blackberry phone and reception has been great. I now have full reception everywhere in Boise (indoors and outdoors), including the places where my girlfriends Verizon phone doesn't work at all. I also have full reception in Cascade and McCall, and have not dropped service at all from Boise to Idaho Falls. I feel like it is more a cell phone issue than a network issue, because it has ONLY been this Blackberry phone that has had good reception for me.

My reception with Qwest is great! I do not have any dropped calls and usually I have at least 4 or 5 bars. I have great reception in and out of the city and surrounding areas. It sucks rocks that Qwest is switching to Verizon and their "customer offers" for migration only offers discountinued phones that are shabby at best. I am going to wait until my service is shut off before I choose another provider.

Carriage crossing apartments. Barely one bar in or outside apartment. Almost all calls drop. Goes into digital roaming often outside or in! Right in middle of town.

I've got T-Mobile and I get practically no reception at my apt and neither does Sprint, which my bf has. I lose 99% of my data services about 75% of the time and SOMETIMES I can manage to get an email or use the web browser, but not always. It's ridiculous since I am literally in the middle of Boise and I have no idea how to find out if other carriers will be better before spending the money on a phone or service plan. : /

Reception is pretty good except outlying areas like north Eagle. I have been somewhat satisfied with T-Mobile and the plans pricing is great but my phone(or carrier) has the most annoying habit of not vibrating when I get a call and not notifying me for 15 minutes after. Makes me want to switch carriers but nothing else seems like a better value. Very few dropped calls, "network busy" error comes up every 1 / 25 calls or so

Oddly enough, in this area I (and others) have 4-5 bars yet am unable to make or receive phone calls from this area. 5 weeks on the phone with customer service cannot explain why and have written this off to poor reception.

My first cell phones (we have two). My wife's seems marginally better than mine. The microphones pick up any and all environmental noise and amplify it to a screech, making it a chore to talk very long. My next one will be a flip phone for this reason. Reception inside any building sucks eggs. Sometimes I'll see 5 bars for a second, but then it's back down to two. If I don't get three bars, I don't bother trying to make a call, it'll be dropped. Will absolutely drop all calls if I enter a grocery store or other large building while talking. The last time I had a conversation with my out-of-state Grandfather before he died, we could barely hear each other... I pulled over and shut off the ignition, which helped, but talk about frustrating! I sincerely hope a better service exists, but after browsing this website I see there's no clear winner.
