Overall Verizon has greatly improved from a year ago. Service is good and get fast 3g as well. Formerlly a ATT customer, I can say that VZW beats them hands down everywhere I go, and in Boise as well.

A year ago the Verizon rep told me they would have cell service in Riggins in 5 months. This year they told me the same thing. My old analog phone used to work there, but I think Verizon has ceased all analog transmission. No Verizon phone service works in Riggins. My son has ATT and he can get out with it in Riggins!

Reception is now good. 2 years ago we experienced dropped calls but that has improved a lot.

I haven't had many problems with reception from home, but when I start moving around on the Bench area of town, reception can be tricky. Maybe it's all the beautiful, old trees!

Verizon is horrible wherever I go. Inside or outside, I rarely have more than 1 or 2 bars. If I am even able to make a call, it is frequently dropped. I live in the middle of town and would expect to have at least decent service... .not at all the case.

Unfortunately I happen to be in one of the elusive black holes of Boise. As I drive out of my neighborhood I can watch the bars increase by blocks. One block out 2 bars, 3-4 block and I am at full bars. Still drops some calls while at home so we haven't been able to get rid of home phone yet. Qwest reception was better but service sucked... oh well, what else can you do. Samsung phone works MUCH better than previous phone which would drop everything at home.

Verizon Wireless signal is this area and gone from bad to worse. Most of the calls are either dropped or the person on the other line is scrambled. Complaints to both Verizon corporate or to locals goes no where. Others using Verizon phones have the same problem, please Verizon wake up and do something!

At the Albertson's in this location, I can keep a signal barely long enough to have a fast conversation. Inside the store, I have 2-3 bars until I dial, then I have none. My home is a mile away, and the reception in my house is also terrible - almost all of my calls are dropped very quickly.

I live off of Lake Hazel rd near Five Mile Rd... when I go west on Lake Hazel to Eagle rd. and turn right on Eagle (North) within about 1-2 minutes (Amity rd. area)my reception bars drop down to basically nothing until I get all the way down near Overland rd.

I rarely get 5 bars in this area - normally 2-3. I live right outside the cell tower across from Idaho Parks and Lands. I was told that is the problem. I may be in the wonder if its the 2 Eagles (?) who have a huge nest on top of the tower itself is the real reason?? What a dilemma that is. Do not now who to contact re the cell tower itself to check that dilemma out. My Verizon usually blocks out words of callers and I go outside, where it is a bit better. I lose coverage at Discovery Park immediately going up Hwy. 21. I have a new upgrade phone (Motorola V-815) which I was told by 2 stores that is the best for reception this part of Boise (?).

Summer is here, the trees have leaves, and Verizon is leaving us in the black hole of cell phone signal again. I can no longer get or make calls from home. I know many Verizon users in this area who keep their service because they need coverage up in Cascade and McCall, but back here in our part of the North End, you can't get or receive calls. The problem area with many dead spots goes from Hill Rd on the North almost to State St. and Lemp St. on the South; N 30th St. on the West and almost to Harrison on the East. This area has good Cingular coverage, even in buildings, so it can be done. When I pull into my driveway, I have 0 bars of Verizon signal outside, not in building. Verizon needs to put in another tower to serve this area, but they are not interested. We are installing a repeater antenna to boost our coverage since my husband's employer uses Verizon and he has no other choice.

I live down the hill from these two stores and when I'm shopping in either location I have to walk all the way outside just to get enough signal for a short, broken and always dropped call. At my home (Lakewood) the signal is not much better with at least one out of five calls dropped in the same location each time. Verizon has switched out the phone but still the same problem. Would like to hear what other people are using that I see having conversations as I walk around in the stores.

From October 1998 until the beginning of August 2005, we had 2 - 3 bars and functional service. Then Verizon changed something and our signal dropped to 0 - 2 bars. We can no longer make or receive calls near our home, indoors or out. Verizon won't do anything to restore our neighborhood's coverage. Instead they have declared this a "low service area" and left us without functional service. Verizon used to be the best in our neighborhood, but not any more. Neighbors with Cingular say they have good service and can make and receive calls with almost no dropped calls. I am going to finish the BBB complaint process, but I don't expect Verizon will do anything to resolve the problem. I may be forced to use Cingular despite their reported poor customer service. At least I would have signal.

Only sporatic reception with a certainty of dropped calls if you are more than 2 miles east of Micron, till you reach Mt Home.

No reception at all once I pass the bridge coming up south cole. Occasionally It'll ring, but if I pick up, the call drops immediately. Verizon works well in most other areas but looks like they need a new tower to cover the growing S. Cole area.

I turn off of Cole and go a block and it drops to 1 bar and keeps dropping calls. I even put one of those tape on anntena boosters.

Always have great reception, even in buildings. All through Boise, Meridian area. Never had a call dropped.

I have had very good reception in Boise / Nampa / Caldwell with Verizon Wireless. 3 bars in Emmett, full signal in McCall, 2 bars in Mt Home, 1 bar in Wilder, full in Payette / Fruitland.
