No reception at all once I pass the bridge coming up south cole. Occasionally It'll ring, but if I pick up, the call drops immediately. Verizon works well in most other areas but looks like they need a new tower to cover the growing S. Cole area.

Great reception with AT&T / Cingular all over Boise, and in many more places in Idaho than many of my friends who use different carriers - in McCall, for example. Still no reception in the canyons, however (thank gawd).

Highland Springs Apartments has been surprisingly unkind to Virginmobile and to Cingular. I returned the Cingular Go phone with no further experiments after it was poor from my apartment. The T-Mobile To Go has worked very well in the spot where those others failed. In the challenging VA Hospital Lab it will work reliably and clearly a few feet from the window--same spot where the Virginmobile barely connected with broken outgoing. Deeper in the Lab it fails like most. In most locations in Boise signal is very good. T-mobile's scenario of guys on a camping trip to make the point of "no roaming charges" may be misleading. There is no roaming, and north of Eagle the signal disappears.

In many locations in Boise and Eagle signal strength was very good. Surprisingly poor inside my apartment building and just outside it. Strength improves a lot half a block away. Like most mobile phones, it doesn't work in most of VA Hospital Laboratory. Near the window it works barely, and outgoing signal is broken up there. Although my overall impression of Virginmobile is favorable, I have switched to T-Mobile to Go for better signal in these two key spots. There is no roaming. North of Eagle service disappears. Southeast past Diversion Dam it disappears.

Seems to have stronger signal in most places around Boise than Verizon. Calls do not drop often. Network can be unreliable--in the last 6 months, the network has gone down at least 5 times that I noticed. Sometimes TXT messaging and picture messaging will be delayed.

I have TMboile and I absolutely love the service. I have had a few different carriers before and everything about the service I received before was awful. TMobile's customer service is outstanding and my phone gets reception EVERYWHERE! I travel a lot and 95% of where I have gone I have full service, and if not I have 3 bars.

T-Mobile used to be excellent. We are a business and have apx 25 phone in Idaho and 15 phones in Portland Oregon. Calls frequently are dropped, sometimes we get no receiption at all... .when we first turn on phone, no service--turn it on and off several times, then finally might connect. We are very unhappy with T-Mobile and would not recommend it to anyone!

At home, at work (near the Mall), at Wal-Mart (all the way back by the eggs yet... ) I get great reception. One call in 50 might drop at some point, or make a noise. Fixed price great. Since Sept. 2001 I have had phone service with Cricket. It does seem to take them forever to process checks sent to them in mail... You really need to send in a full week before due date... They need to clean up their act on this... Calling card works fine for rare long distance call. Have heard some complaints from others at office... Suggest that anyone contemplating Cricket borrow phone for a few days and try in all likely spots and consider needs (drive to Mt. Home every day? Then forget it... )

My AT&T phone used to work all the way to the Hilltop Cafe on Hwy. 21. My T-Mobile phone stops working while crossing the Boise River at Suprise Valley. Crappy at resolving problems as well. Sold me the service with promises of phone reception at my home (NONE) and number portability (not able). They would not cancel the contract, even though they were unable to live up to their end of the bargain. Pricey too! for the family plan camera phones. Leaving for good this month.

Decent reception in town, little or no reception toward the outskirts, most notably on Federal Way. Horrible customer service, lots of nasty hidden fees, have had many complaints from people of an echo on my end of the line, lots of dropped calls. I've been with Cricket for two years and am enthusiastically switching to ANY other service at the end of this month! The only and I repeat ONLY thing they have going for them is no contracts or credit checks.
