I always have 5 bars pretty-much anywhere I go. I've had Verizon for 5+ years and haven't even considered switching. Verizon's customer service has been great. Are you "IN" yet?
AT&T (GSM): After struggling with Verison for several years, I've switched to AT&T (+Cingular). My problem had been too much exposure to too many towers. I'm located about 1000 feet above the Spokane valley floor North of Hayden lake with a 45+ mile view toward Spokane. I always had plenty of signal strength with my Verizon phones, but often found myself disconnected or shunted off to an analog connection. I tried to explain to Verizon that I thought I was hitting too many of their towers, but they treated me like an idiot (I may be an idiot, but I'm also an electrical engineer). I recently switched to AT&T and am delighted. I can use my cell phone flawlessly in my home, along the entire route of my commute to the Spokane Industrial park (Sullivan) and everywhere else I've tried it. The Cingular towers are spotty, by the way. I can't heap enough praise on the AT&T GSM system and wish I'd made the change much earlier.
