Tested T-Mobile from Nampa, down hwy 45 and then on hwy 78 to Marsing. Reception is pretty good until you get to the Melba Turn off, then nothing until you're practically in Marsing. You can get reception up Wilson Creek road if you are in a few specific spots. Their map shows better coverage than what I experienced. Last few miles before you reach Marsing are VERY spotty. One minute you'll have a couple bars, the next second nothing. I've had no trouble with the phone in Nampa though. Virgin Mobile (uses Sprint towers)has better coverage in the Marsing Area. My callwave phone that used Verizon was by far the best coverage, but the phone never worked right and the customer service was horrid so I ended up having to cancel.
I have a virgin mobile phone and live near Givens Hot Springs. There is no reception until I am almost all the way to Nampa, near intersection of Bowmont and Hwy. 45. Unless you are going to only use it in town, I would recommend it for Melba folks.
I would love to have reception at my home as promised. I have a cell phone to make long distance calls, and canceled verizon because AT&T told me I was in a good reception area, quoteded me a price for 2 phones, on a family plan. I am now paying about $20 more per month than quoted.
