Frequently goes in / out of digital roam whether inside or outside. Missed calls, dropped calls, etc. Service isn't any better in Boise, where I work (on Emerald between Garden and Latah), in fact it's worse, I'm usually roaming. My battery has to be recharged daily because my phone is constantly searching for service.
This is such a disappointment. Fluctuating service all over the city- north and south. I have not had one call that wasn't dropped or garbled. I can't believe the poor coverage they supply to a city of over 50,000 people, on flat land, in the middle of a metro area.
Reception is very spotty. I can have 5 bars one minute then it drops to 2 bars without my moving around. Nearest towers are Maple Grove and Overland, Franklin and Curtis and Can-ada and 11th ave.
To the review about no Cricket reception at the New YMCA, HP... basically Chinden Rd East of Eagle. I am a Cricket customer also. I have the Kyocera KOI. I am a member of the New YMCA and live in the general area. I have had no issues with coverage, inbuilding or out, in that area. You may have a phone issue.
Frequently dropped calls (read:9 out of 10 calls). I can be sitting perfectly still, have 5 bars one moment, and the next moment have zero bars and the call gets dropped. Calls also drop along the major nearby interstate. Come on, how hard can it be to cover the ONE major interstate artery in the Treasure Valley?
I recently moved here from Portland, Oregon. I did not want to purchase a "home" phone. I heard about Cricket and thought I would give it a try since there were no commitments. It has worked great for me, not only as my home phone, but just around town. I purchased another one for my 16 year old daughter on her 16th birthday. It is completely unlimited so I never have to worry about a surprise bill. My bill has never been more than what I signed up for. The plan is unlimited usage... to include LD, text messaging, and voicemail. If you are looking for an around town phone (which now offers roaming on several networks), to replace your existing home phone, with unlimited everything... Cricket is the way to go.
Cingular GSM coverage and signal is terrible! Audio quality has never been good and constant dropouts and busy network delays make Cingular unusable. Hard to believe anyone keeps this service. Stay away from Cingular in Idaho!
Frequently missed phone calls. The phone never rings but I'll receive a voice mail message over 1 hour later. Customer service is by far some of the worst I have ever seen. When I travel out of state, phone calls are not received, even if I am in a Sprint saturated area. Voice Mail messages oftentimes show up DAYS later. Find a different company!
About 2 weeks ago my AT&T GSM, now Cingular service has gone to a ROAM coverage at my home. The reception is poor and I can not make a usuable call any more from my house. The customer service at Cingular says they are "working" on the problem. They did admit they were using a different tower location. However, they can not tell me when things will bo back to my previous reception. Soon I will consider them in breach of my contract and they can take me to court for failure to pay my bill. Pretty bad for my "home area" as they define it.
