I've had zero problems with Verizon in Moscow / Pullman since 2007. I have full coverage on both campuses - except of course in basements on campus (which is true of all carriers).

Just came back to review any more input from others with Verizon as a carrier. Interesting to note the poster stating the information from below is from a little kid who doesn't know anything. Too bad, you state that as we've been with Verizon for over 6 years as a customer in this area. You're going to need to verify your credentials of how long you've been with Verizon to even remotely see what has happened with the signal in this area. Plus, we've seen from the time Verizon launched their network in this area to what the current signal strength has been. Also, we know that Verizon had bought out Unicel and are using their towers in this area, that's the reason for the change in signal strength, as it used to be a solid 4-5 bars every where you went in the Moscow, Pullman, Lewiston, and Clarkston area. I highly doubt you've been with Verizon Wireless for over 6 years in this area to even know this. I've talked to Verizon about this issue, and they don't have any immediate plans for upgrading the towers they bought from Unicel at this time. Sorry to say, a little kid would not know all this information.

Great service with Verizon. It seems to me as the comments below are just from a little kid who doesn't know anything. My family and friends are switching to Verizon.

This review is an update to the review made on Fri May 02, 2008. Now, I'm aware of why Verizon's service is so bad here in the Moscow, Pullman, Lewiston, and Clarkston area. My employer in which I received my business phone from, had informed me of Verizon buying out Unicel and using their towers here in these areas. They also stated that the towers haven't been updated since the buy out and this is probably the reason for the weak signal that we have in these areas now. I believe them 100%, as I watched my signal go from 4-5 bars to 1-2 bars at my home. Sometimes, there would be no signal there as well. I had to switch away from them, as I didn't feel that it was feasible for me to keep paying on an unreliable signal for service in my home and in and around the area that was mentioned above. Verizon really needs to step up and fix this problem, as this is a mere crutch for the problem at hand. It's nice to have a good service, but not when you're paying a premium for a subpar reception. I loved Verizon service overall, until this issue came about. Now, they're not any better than AT&T or Sprint. And I'm finding out that Sprint is coming back to take away customers from Verizon. Seeing that they use the same CDMA network as Verizon does. Sounds like it's time for a change.

Can't believe it, Verizon finally has their network up in this area and it is by far the best for signal strength coverage. My phone reads 6 bars as the maximum strength and for the most part that's what it is everywhere that I've been. With the other carrier that Verizon leased from, the signal strength never hit 6 bars period. At my home, I have at least 2-3 bars on average for signal strength with Verizon now, whereas with the other carrier that Verizon leased from, I could only get 1 to 2 bars and sometimes no bars of signal strength. I would constantly drop calls at my home with the other carrier that Verizon leased from, but not anymore. I'm smiling pretty, since I have one of the best if not best services available and I won't have to consider changing carriers now. I'm glad I stuck it out and waited for them to establish a network here.

Verizon is a very good service provider, too bad they haven't updated the area I live in yet. I'm still waiting for that to happen. What amazes me is that, they went ahead and provided home service for an area south of where I live before hand. Maybe due to demand or just plain population reasons. Whatever the case maybe, there are 2 major universities in this area that bring a lot of people from the bigger areas that have Verizon service. These people come in hoping to have service and features that work only to find out that they have no features available to them. I've been a Verizon customer for over 5 years now and have hoped for this to happen, but now I'm considering making the switch to one of their major competitors because of it. Too bad they haven't come to agreement with the local providers to pass what they need to pass to meet the FCC regulation requirements and stipulations. It obviously takes more than a loyal customer to have them do something about. The reps at the stores that I've talked to can't believe they made that kind of move as well. Too bad they're using Sprint towers to bounce off of in this area, it's giving them a bad reputation, because Sprints' service is horrible in general. I've used that service on different occassions and have not enjoyed it once. That's the reason why I have rated the reception less than perfect, no fault on Verizon's by any means, but is in the fact that they haven't stepped up to the plate to take care of the problem instead of prolonging it. What a way to get bad customer feedback, from a part of the service that's not even provided by them From a customer's standpoint they don't know the difference except for the fact that they think they're getting Verizon service, when in fact they aren't in this area.
