I have been having 24-hour a day reception problems in and around our home for many months now. I cannot place or receive calls without cutting out horribly. Several times a day calls are dropped altogether. I consistently have 1 bar of service and it does not raise until I get about 1 / 2 mile away from our home. I've been contacting Cricket since 7 / 31 / 07. At that time I was told I would receive a call from a local representative by the end of that business day and a technician would come to our home to evaluate the service in our area. I was not contacted by the local office until 9 / 17 / 07 - and he only thought I was having roaming problems. No technician has ever contacted me, nor come out to evaluate service. I have called 611 and sent emails to corporate several times, with detailed logs of my troubles. Corporate will not contact me. Customer service at 611 is a joke. Have not received any more communication from the local store. I enjoy the unlimited service that this company provides, but I'm at wits end. If anyone knows another local unlimited service like theirs - PLEASE post it here!
I usually have 4 or 5 bars at my office near Glenwood and Chinden in Boise. The signal fades quickly headed West on Chinden. I drop in and out of coverage near my home near Star Rd.and Cherry Lane. Usually have just 1 bar at home, occasionally 2. An external antenna attached usually nets me 1 more bar. Been considering an in-building amp so I can use my cell phone at home without dropouts. I'm on call 24 / 7, so I carry my work cell everywhere I go. My employer is with Verizon, so I don't have a choice. Wish Verizon would put up more towers in the area.
We have maybe one bar at our home. Calls to Verizon about tying into other cell towers or building one here have done no good over the last year and a half. Frustrating! I have to use my regular hard-wired phone to make calls that would be free on my cell-phone.
So far so good, I've had Sprint for seven months now using my Sammy A900 and have had no problems with dropped calls, poor quality or reception. In my opinion its excellent.
