I can rarely make a phone call within a 2 block radius of my house with the phone up to my ear because my head apparently blocks the last bit of signal that makes it to my phone - Usually have to talk on speaker phone or ear piece and often drop calls or just switches to a busy signal - Talked to AT&T people, got a new phone, new sim card, reception went from little to none so I took my returned my phone and kept the new sim card but problem still remains - on another note, my roommate has the same phone and same service but has very little problem (doesn't make any sense) - after I lose reception, I often have to stand in the middle of my driveway for 20+ minutes and turn my phone off and on multiple times with about 50% of the time, I never get reception back and just give up - Makes me really miss landline phones

The signal goes from 5 or 6 bars to Zero! In at least 50% of the calls the call goes dead! I hate the service of AT&T wireless in Champaign IL. I used to have Net 10; it was a lot better signal than AT&T.

I've had no trouble with my Cingular reception. I lived in Savoy (neil and curtis) for a year, then moved to the middle of champaign. No problems either way.

"He ho you.. Wha.. you... hear me? Sorr... Bad... vice... [call ended] That about sums it up.

No service in this area or within a 3 mile radius. Once to Niel St.it's okay but otherwise a waste of money.

Terrible reception in apartment near downtown Champaign. I am a bit shocked, after moving from Urbana, having expected the reception to be, if anything, better. Very little reception -- dropped calls and incomprehensible calls are the rule. Very dismaying, and I too am trapped in a lame Cingular contract.

It shows full bars but the reception is not great. Although the phone has a bad reputation as the microphone is too easy to overdrive, I also get static / poor reception when listening to others who are calling from a LAN line. I occasionally get calls dropped. To get good reception, I have to go outside my apartment and walk one block south.

Virtually no reception at all in our home, ok around town. Locked into a two-year contract and cannot use the phone from home. Cingular has flimsy excuses, I could beat myself for having let the 30 day warranty time expire without cancelling the plan.

Reception is get bad going west on Kirby Ave past Neil St. and gets horrible around Kirby and Mattis. Almost no reception at all at this corner. Also poor reception to the south of this intersection.

I work at Amdocs on Fox Drive. I don't even take calls on my phone during the day because they will drop or the caller will not be able to hear me. I get excellent reception and data rates (can stream 96kbps shoutcast audio without buffering) at my home in Urbana and throughout the downtown areas of C-U. However the weak areas are very bad. The worst is Kirby Ave. from Prospect - West. Calls are practically guaranteed to drop if I drive into this area while talking.

Really good performance from this phone and network. Virtually never had a call dropped and I even got reception in my lab - which is in the basement. Other phones on other service providers got no signal and I had three bars. Cingular are also really helpful w.r.t. service and sorting out large bills! REALLY sad to leave them but have to for various reasons unrelated to their service.

I haven't heard any thing wrong yet, but then again I haven't used it much since I just got it recently, but for what I have used it for, it works "Good".
