I have had my blackjack since summer and it has been fine until now. This past week I can hardly send texts, make or receive calls, and do not get voicemails for hours.

The reception was good when I first moved to Chicago. In the past month I have dropped calls, voice mails appear 3 hours late, and I have horrible reception. Tried changing phones and it's still bad.

Ongoing problems relating to dropped calls, especially in my apartment. Verizon gives me the runaround and they often ask me to update / reprogram the phone (*228). I have done this multiple times and the dropped calls persist.

I cannot use my phone in my house and in much of the two 4 block radius surounding my house. I hate ATT I am switching.

I get absolutely no reception at my house or around my house. I can't even get a signal if I set my phone to roaming. I have found that Sprint's service is generally pretty poor in Chicago and even in some of the surrounding suburbs.

Usually good reception, but in the basements of buildings it gets down to 1 or no bars. My calls hardly ever drop though, even with no bars showing.

Bad reception with verizion all over city. Part of it seems to be reception in chicago. Have had better reception (with same phone) in rural parts of new mexico. calls are dropped every 1-4 minutes. lots of feedback, static, lossyness and reed for repetition all over town. when I lived in the loop I could only make calls from my west facing windowsill- very frustrating. When I can get reception in ukie village / wicker park it is briefly and inaudable, dropping in and out. It seems to be like this all over chicago. In the last two years, I have made one mostly clear call- but I was standing in an open area in the goose island industrial cooridor at the time and don't plan on going back there to make calls. Need a differand carrier and phone.

NO Reception inside US Cellular Field (go figure). But reception is great everywhere else.

On the 7th floor, I always have full reception. I've never had a problem with reception in this area since I've switched to Sprint.

On the 59th floor I can rarely if ever get reception on T-Mobile. A friend with Sprint had great reception in the apartment. T-Mobile works fine elsewhere in the city, just not in high rises apparently.

Coverage in our neighborhood is spotty; sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's awful depending on the time of day. I've had Cingular / AT&T for years -- it's always been bad. My roommates have had T-Mobile and Verizon service, and they complained about bad coverage too. I think the area just sucks. There aren't just any towers in Lakeview.

TERRIBLE reception with Verizon. Roommate has T-Mobile and has no problems. I make a lot of calls for work - today I had 15 dropped calls in a matter of a few hours. I'm getting a landline soon because I can't get out of my contract. I even leave my building and make my calls from the alley now in hopes to get better reception. When in the apartment, there are constant breaks in the reception and I can't hold a conversation. When outside, I usually am able to hold a conversation for about 4 minutes before the call drops without warning. Very strange. No matter how many times I have spoken with Verizon there is nothing they have noted that would cause this; one customer service agent didn't even seem to believe me that this is happening. VERY frusturating. Reception usually fine in downtown loop area, though. Although it would be nice to be able to make calls from my own home!

I can barely use my phone in my new apartment, often not at all. Even on the street I get no coverage often, or calls are dropped when I do. This isn't an iPhone issue, as I had the same problem with previous LG phone. ATT more than stinks here. Verizon phones work great. This neighborhood is hardly the hinterlands. I'm beyond frustrated. Stay away from ATT if you're anywhere nearby!

I cannot make or receive calls from inside my office but phones with other carriers, i.e. T-Mobile and U.S. Celular seem to work fine.

I had Verizon for many years in the South and found the coverage excellent, however coverage here is much worse. I usually have 1 - 2 bars anywhere in the city and have many more dropped calls.

US Cellular claim to have a tower in the area 103rd and Lawndale. It seems that it works well outside my property only until we get inside is there many problems. I have a National Plan which allows me to roam and while using Sprints network I have 5 bars inside my home!

Have tried using voice, minimal reception, constant drop calls, wouldn't think that would be the case 47 floors up with a wall of windows looking West. Data appears to be delivered on a different frequency as my emails seem to be delivered no problem.
