I often have dropped calls and my phone even loses coverage entirely with a "Searching... " message. AT&T says several towers in my area are "degraded" and will be fixed soon, but this has been the story for over a year.
i am thinking of taking the hit for exiting out of my contract early. terrible reception. from 2 bars to 0 by the time I press talk. good news is that I am able to live a cell phone free life.
My reception varies from moment to moment from 0 bars to 4 bars. It constantly changes. If I watch it just goes up and down as I am on the phone. I am lucky if I can complete a call without the line being dropped. I am so frustrated. I called 611 and they looked into it but they were not able to do anything about it. I had excellent reception when I lived in Lake County in Illinois but it has only been bad while living in Chicago. I want to know which carrier is best in my area.
Data speeds are awful, and 3G is inconsistent, cutting in and out. When 3G is switched off, EDGE sometimes performs OK, but sometimes I can't get any data access. Really, this is shameful performance. Dropped calls happen regularly, too.
My phone shows that I have full serivce but I never get texts on time and it takes about 5 or 6 tries to send an outgoing text... .is it a fact that you can drop your contract without any fees?!?!?! screw you att
I regularly have to walk six blocks away from my apartment to use my phone. Even when I walk away form my own apartment: Dropped calls, bad reception, late voicemails, late text messages. Awful. Unbelievable. I'm on the phone with 611 right now to see what they have to say about the technical support case that's been open for 2 months.
Just picked up the Blackberry Tour on Sprint. I had looked at a number of carriers and wanted the BB Bold on AT&T, but was scared away by these reviews. I'm glad I waited. The Tour is incredible and apparently the Sprint network in Chicago is the best. This is a very informative site. Glad I found it before making a purchase.
