I never drop calls with my Verizon phone. I was just marvelling how great my reception was... just rode up the elevator--4 flights--and did not lose my call!

Cingular service has been excellent in all areas that I have observed. All service provided in my local area is GSM. I originally was given the Nokia 6340i by Cingular to insure that I had complete TDMA and GSM service when travelling in rural areas.

It's like being in a big shadow. Walking east, bars begin to reappear as I approach Fullerton and Sheffield.

VERY poor reception - rarely can get through on first several tries. Often can't call or be called inside of structures. Today was NO reception from my car. Called to complain and they were unhelpful. I'm getting a different cell phone provider -- I've had enough of Cingular / ATT.

In my apartment(1st floor of 2 flat) on Belden and Sacramento I get about 1 to 2 bars. I get a lot dropped calls as well. There must be major interference in the area because my wifi will not work either.

I barely register 1 bar when indoors, none at all when I'm downstairs. Voice mail notification can take 24-48 hours, if I get it at all. However, it seems that ALL carriers have problems in my building, according to a survey of my neighbors in my 6-unit condo. And visitors nearly always can't get reception, no matter which carrier they have!

Very nice looking phone, but I want to try the new Motorola KRZR K1 and see how much better it is or if it is the same quality as the RAZR.

Verizon works well here, I live in a condo and have been able to carry on conversations IN MY ELEVATOR. The fact that there's a cell tower three blocks away might have something to do with it. Other carriers don't have the same strength as Verizon does

Cingular service in my building is a disaster. I'd call customer service, except I can't hold a call long enough to get through more than one or two selections on their automated menu.

I don't really cheer for cingular, but I have to say that I get good reception. I believe that in this area Cingular uses primarly 850 Mhz frequency, so anyone with tri band with no 850 coverage, will get bad reception. As far as the Quad band is concerned, I believe all quad bands offer the 850 Mhz frequency and so the quality of call is good. I must admit that I had lots of trouble with AT&T wireless when Cingular took over, and I think that's because Cingular wanted to push the AT&T customers over to their call plan. It's strange now, that Cingular is going to be At&t. I have one advice for them, that they should push around customers. B / c this will come and haunt them. I am already kinds decided on not renewing my contract with Cingular / At&t. B / c of their lieing and cheating ways. I don't encourage anyone to sign on, but I will tell you I get good reception.

I live on the 18th floor in a solid concrete high-rise. When I'm on my cell phone, I could hear the person on the other line crystal clear, BUT, they can't hear anything I'm saying... So, the conversation goes like this, "Hi, do you want to go out for lunch?"... "hello"... "what was that"... "say it one more time"... "Did you say, yes?"... "what"... And, this goes on for a while... I called T-Mobile a million times, they said they would send a tech each time... well 8 months later... nothing... same story by T-mobile... So, I call T-Mobile on a regular basis... once a day... They should spend less money on ads and more on building a better network!

On the 18th floor I get 1 bar maximum IF, and only IF, I stand by the window. It may be the phone. With my Nokia 3589i, I used to get 2 or more bars.

I usually get 2 bars outdoor in the entire Bucktown / Wicker Park / Ukranian Village area. I get 1 or 2 bars indoors, and my phone will drop calls on occasion. After reading reviews of other carriers, I realize no carriers get a good signal in this area. It won't improve until another tower is built.

Had Verizon for many years, no problems. Five months ago I started having billing problems. I started getting $200 monthly phone bills. The good news: They fix it. The bad news: Every single month I have to find ONE PERSON who knows the situation. I have his number and extension, but am usually blocked from his ext by Verizon. I have to keep calling till I get through. I spend a minimum of 2 hours per month fixing my bill. I'm switching. But all companies seem to suck

horrible reception in this underserved area, especially indoors. We have to stand next to a certain window to make calls, and even then sometimes drops out. I dont know if changing carriers would help if there are no towers. Calls also drop on LakeShore drive, but otherwise the rest of the city, burbs and major city travel seem to be fine.

Service is very spotty around the city but improves out in the suburbs. Can't get a signal ever in any elevator. I was hoping that upgrading from a low end Nokia to the Motorola Razr would improve getting a signal but it's the same. I have to stand near the window of my lakefront high rise to get a signal. A relative recently switched to T-Mobile and had minimal problems while visiting here in CHicago.
