tmobile is very convenient, especially the pricing. I think I only had dropped calls in the taste of chicago, because of too many people. anyways their service is great for my area. I always get 4 to 5 bars.
AT&T is the worst - no service, dropped calls. Im in Ravenswood. Ive been talking to them for months about this with no resolution - I need to get out of my contract.
Sprint rocks in the area. In the basement I still get 4 or more bars. I switched from ATT which was lousy. Kept getting dropped calls even in the backyard outside.
Signal seems to fade in and out. Voice breaks and I have to constantly ask people to repeat themselves. Phone generally shows max bars until I try to place a call, then the bars dramatically drop off and I get a 'call failed' message. About 30% - 40% of initial calling attempts result in a 'call failed' message.
i've had Sprint for over 2 years now and it's way better than cingular / att! it's just a bit expensive. I get coverage everywhere. very seldom do I drop calls.
The reception keeps getting worse and worse. My plan with AT&T is currently up and wanted to get an upgraded IPhone 3GS but due to the poor quality of service in our area - considering changing. Currently within my home the max amount of bars I have are two and a great portion of the time it says No Service.
I am here for the summer and wish I would have found this site before living here. NO reception 90% of the time and the other 10% I get about 5 min of talk time before the call drops. It is a shame that this area of a major American city does not have ANY reception inside or outside. I've been on the phone many times with customer services and each time it's a different excuse. "Maybe it's the terrain." "It's material your building is made out of." "Some of the towers are down but should be back up soon." "It's because your area code is not a Chicago area code." Unacceptable.
I have had an iphone for 5 months all I get is dropped calls. No reception and 3G is the worst. I was with T-Mobile for five years and wish I never changed to ATT. Pay all this money for an iphone, thanks ATT
Terrible reception with AT&T and even worse when using Palm Treo 750. Even though i'm outdoor up on the patio I get drop calls... another contributing factor is the neighborhood since using the same phone and carrier in Gold Coast was not so bad.
