AT&T's headquarters is just around the bend and reception blows anywhere indoors. Out doors the strength meter is constantly moving between no signal to perfect. This is on a S-E T68 GSM Phone

No complaints about my Verizon service (except price). I have been a customer for apprx. 14 years, and in that time I have seen friends and family try various other carriers. In the end, they come back to Verizon because the coverage is excellent.

Cingular has been spotty at best throughout the entire city of Chicago. I have used this phone all across the nation for the past year or so, and Chicago has far and away the poorest coverage. Consistent dropped calls almost anywhere on the kennedy xpy, little to no reception in Logan Square / Bucktown / Wicker Park, even the Loop has astoundingly poor reception. Users of Sprint PCS seem to have no trouble in these same areas. Having been a cellular user for over 10 years, I can say confidently that my old analog service was of consistently higher quality that Cingular's GSM. A Customer Service rep stated that the service level was due to modifications being done on the former AT&T cell towers. It simply astounds me that the 3rd biggest market in the US has service this consistently poor. I intend to get out of my contract asap.

AT&T should not be allowed to sell any new phones in Chicago until it begins to provide something like the services it promises. Their network is saturated, they simply cannot provide service to additional people, and it would be appropriate for the state attorney general to step in on this one, along with the FCC.

Used to have excellent reception. Now it is terrible. I guess Verizon cares more about reception in Antarctica than downtown Chicago. Canceling service today!

I always have reception, however, it's back and forth between 3G and 1xrt. Most of the time it's slow 1xrt, but when on 3G I get full bars. This is my only gripe. Otherwise, calls are always crystal clear and I don't ever get any dropped calls.

On the 18th floor I get 1 bar maximum IF, and only IF, I stand by the window. It may be the phone. With my Nokia 3589i, I used to get 2 or more bars.

I get no reception when I'm in one of DePaul's buildings... also in the Loft-Right building... I think maybe Cingular might work better in this area because DePaul works with Cingular so it might be better downtown too... T-Mobile should do something about this to get better reception in Chicago...
