Almost NO service in my house... East window upstairs will provide enough signal to get voice mails, change settings... Calling really iffy. Verizon (previous carrier) just as bad. I'm in a dead zone... 1 / 2 block in any direction is great signal!

I get reasonable reception even in the basement if I set the phone in the window and use the earpiece. I have had Cingular for about four years now, because it's what works when I'm at work. Reception in town here has improved a lot in the last year.

I am with cingular, although I used to be with ATT. I usually have full bars unless I'm going out toward the shopping area where I lose service. Verizon is the best reception company out here tho. I have not had problems with my service only because I think I came from the old ATT company not the new Cingular company.

i talk on the phone alot to my girlfriend long distance and it never fails. if i'm walking around and move behind a building it goes out. if I move around close to my walls.. it goes out. I almost regret answering because it usually ends up in a fight because I only hear every other word.

This has to be the worst cellphone co. in the entire world. I got absolutely no reception in or around my apartment. I have to go down like 3 blocks before I can even dial out or hold a signal. When I called asking for assistance, their customer service are as horrible as their signal is. I will never ever refer anyone to Cingular and I cancelled my plan already. NO ONE GET CINGULAR!

it seemed liek the entire city of dekalb illinois was a virtual dead zone for cingular. In and around northern illinois university and the surrounding areas I had no reception at all. My friend that attends NIU had Cingular but was forced to switch to Verizon because of horrible reception. Even with Cingular he gets an average of 1 bar and topping out at 2

I get no reception when I step in any building.

I can talk in the basement, although at times I have trouble with the signal breaking up even on the first floor(rare). Overall, no problems making or recieving calls anywhere in the area. I have 4+ bars in my friends basement in cortland even.

All phone reception is bad. Rarely works good anywhere.

Service doesn't work -- can't place or receive a single call with this prepaid cricket phone. Falls back to "american roaming" for attempts to make outbound calls, calls to program the phone are staticy / don't work, inbound calls go to voicemail. Frequent "out of service" messages.

This is the only friggin cell phone I've ever had work out here! My T-Mobile sucked, my friends Sprint phone sucks and forget Cingular, you'll never get a signal out here! I actually had an event happen where I was at a party and we were all trying to get a hold of someone, everyone whipped out their phones and I was the ONLY one with reception! YEAH FOR NEXTEL!

Generally decent, but the network seems to have "fits" occasionally where you may or may not be able to make calls out or you'll have a lot of calls dropped..

I would say perfect signal but I can't seem to stay connected to their 3G network. Oh well. Other than that, the only building I do not get signal in is Montgomery.

I almost always have perfect reception in DeKalb.

I get pretty bad singals in my apt and near by area. but if go little further toward Lucinda..then signal strength is pretty good..i say perfect.

Reception is Very good around DeKalb. The only problem I sometimes have is in side my townhouse with is West of Annie Glidden on Hillcrest.

Had problems with Verizon when travelling to the west to work. Lots of dead areas. Switched to US Cellular a year ago and have never had a problem anywhere in N. Illinois.

Never had a problem with U.S. Cellular reception in DeKalb.

Almost always good reception, although about one or two times reception has faded and I have missed a call. Generally no complaints

I get good service here in dekalb with my droidx i'd say perfect but I don't get the best signal at home. It still beats AT&T which I had my whole life, but started having horrible signal if not no signal at all. Which is why I contacted AT&T and fought then to get out of my contract!..FYI According to the person who helped me, its in the contract, if the company cannot provide you with service, you have the right to leave them at no charge.
