I have called Verizon and they suggest a "booster" that I pay for. I want them to take charge and improve the coverage. My coverage here is no better then in the north woods of Wisconsin.

I've seen everything from 4 bars to 0 through the course of a single day. There's usually enough coverage for data, frequently not enough for phone.

Verizon in my location is in a dead zone. Majority of the time I cannot get an outgoing signal or, if I get a signal, the person on the other end cannot hear me, or the call drops. Why do I get a signal only some of the time. I complained to Verizon early on and their only suggestion was to download an update to my cell phone, which did nothing. Reception in other Downers Grove locations has dead zones. Have fulfilled my contract and am getting out.

I was getting Signal upto 09 / 12 / 08, From 09 / 15 / 08 I am not getting signal in my office. I am using this phone for last 10 months.

Every time I get home, my cellphone changed from 3G with bars to Edge no bars. I can receive calls and text but can never call outside the house. I have to go outside to get service. My phone had been replace 4 times to see if its the phone. I really think its the towers. there's no tower in this area.

great coverage in my home and awsome all around the area

great service in my house it does fluctuate between 4 and 5 bars an occasional 3 bar but any were outside always full to the max.

I really get poor coverage at home, Sherman / Stanley (near to Ogden / Fariview). I would say almost useless. It's unfortunate, because reception in most other places around Chicagoland has been great. But even the TMobile coverage maps show a weaker signal in this area. Forcing me to consider other carriers so I can use my cell for my main personal phone.

CIngular reception in this area is terrible. I recommend dumping them as soon as possible if you have this carrier and spend any amount of time in the area.

Impossible to use cingular / v551 consistently from home office. Am forced to call back incoming callers from land line and avoid it for any outbounds. Significant portions of area (in addition to noted location) including DG village center, do not have good Cingular gsm coverage! Cingular - please help!

Weak signal and dropped calls from residence on 7500 block of Queens with Nokia, Motorola and Samsung phones

The reception is just dismal. Sometimes I get three bars, but it drops to one as soon as I start a call. About 75% of my calls are dropped.

I've been working and using my cell phone in the Ogden Ave. area of Downers Grove for about 12 years now. Cingular GSM keeps getting better. The Motorola V551 is by far the best portable phone I've carried since my 3 watt bag phone.

Great reception, problem is dropped calls. Calls either never connect or drop within seconds. Sometimes takes 5 or 6 attempts to complete a call and all my coversation are one or two words long. Maybe phone is too old, maybe network is saturated and dropping packets. Either way Sprint service has steered me away from trying them again so considering T-Mobile or ATT GSM.

I HATE THIS PHONE! AT&T has been less than friendly in satisfying me in this situation. I am considering terminating my contract because of all my problems. I carry a phone book, not a phone. If it is so much of a problem with only the phone I do not understand why my problems happen more often during certain days or times of day, if it is strictly a problem with the phone. The reps are hard ballers and don't really care if I stay or leave and AT&T has itself cushioned with the contract and it really doesn't have to keep you satisfied. If you go with AT&T atleast don't go with GSM unless you know about GSM tower coverage and for God's sake do not buy this phone.
